My W810i Generic... Fine no probs latist FW
Gf's W810i Orange UK Branded: lost all her mem stick ringtones yesterday... all her phone memory games what she paied for from Orange World GPRS and also her phone seems slower than mine n im using a "heavy" theme
any ideas?
maybe orange UK branding issue with latist FW?

IMPORTANT for W810i users: DO NOT UPDATE USING FIRMWARE R4DB005 EUROPE 5 IS BUGGY
I have returned from the Sony Ericsson Center, and the last firmware for Europe 5 is R4CE012, IMPORTANT: DO NOT UPDATE TO R4DB005 like the one you find in Wotanserver because is buggy, I found problems with the filesystem, so if there is no release of firmware from Ericsson, there is no update yet, any other update is pure beta.

When you upload more than 60 (this is more and less) games from the cellular memory to the mem stick, the problem starts when you continue uploading games, for example you upload 4 new game and then move them to the mem stick, you will get games erased, I have tried uploading only in file trasfer mode (mobile off) only ringtones and themes and I got another games erased. I have downgraded the firmware and returned to test all and worked fine, so I went to the SE center to upload to the last firmware, because sometimes SEUS didn't work fine. The last firmware is R4CE012, the SE center told me that SE did not released yet an updated firmware.

Any news about a new firmware? Does anyone have problem with the sms and delivery report sounds with fw R4CE012? They sound a little buggy for me:( |

Hi, for Italy (Europe 5) there is no news, and I could add another bug, sometime, when you are in a phone call, the line goes down and lose the call, so you have to recall the number, this happens with sull signal quality reception... so I think another bug. Any1 have experienced this thing?
I'm annoyed that anytime I call the SE Support Center they ask me stupid questions and they think that I'm the only one that has this kind of problems... I'm a bit furious!! :/

Um I have firmware R4DB005. What exactly is buggy or that you found wrong with the filesystem? Could you elaborate more in detail please without causing panick? I just GOT the W810 unlocked & unbranded (previous Rogers Wireless branded) professionally. I'd like to know what I'm up against thanks.

why does it say that there is no available update wioth my sim free w810i? its a generic middle east cda but SEUS keeps on saying that there is no available update not even R4CK.

hi there!
here is my experience with the w810i...
a couple of days ago I got it as a second-hand buy, the previous owner of this phone had been using it for about a month. It has the firmware version R4CE012. When I started using this phone, there were these all-known bugs such as blinking flashlight, photography failures in a bright conditions, shortcut resetting. Of course, I wasnt very satisfied with all these bugs. Things started to change after some period of usage. After the first restart, I have not seen blinking flash anymore. As far as I have tried to compromise the phone taking pics in bright daylight, the camera hasnt shut down anymore too. The shortcuts were dropped only for the first time (I had the same situation with my K750), now I may change the themes as often as I want, shortcuts are still there. What I was trying to say is that there are almost no probs with the phone no more, and of course, I have no complaints about it!  If to be honest, I saw no need of apdating the firmware. But there is still one "but" - the speaker of the w810 (not the loudspeaker, but the one is used during the conversation), is much more silent than the K750's. And that is the major problem. Using the K750 sometimes I had to turn the volume down, but with the W810, the volume bar is set to its maximum value all the time, and using the phone in noisy environments sometimes may be very challenging indeed.  That is why I decided to try to upgrade the firmaware to the latest one.
Using the SEUS was unsuccesful, it reports that the phone has already the latest released firmware installed. I tried to update several times, no success. The version of the SEUS is the latest one.
I've also tried apdating via phones internal update module. When checking for update, it finds, that there is a new version of the sw available (about 1290KB in size), it allows to download it, what I did, but after the installation has started (there are kind of three steps of the update process, each marked with a different animation), it says something like this - "an error occured - installation unsuccessful. a log will be sent to server...".
So I'm stucked with the R4CE012.
A friend of mine who also has the w810i with the R4DB005 sw, says that his mobiles earspeaker's volume level is loud enough, sometimes he has to turn it down.
So I'd like to ask the w810i owners, who have successfully apdated from R4C to R4D, is there any earphone volume difference between these fw versions? Or any other differences? for example, how about the LCD screen saturation - it seems a bit too oversaturated for me (compared to K750 or w800).
My region - Latvia, phone is unbranded, network - free, prgCXC 1250316_GENERIC_HN...
Any ideas, any suggestions? thanx in advance!  |

Ditto.. is there an easy way to stay updated with W810 firmware development? That is.. is there an easy way to know when new firmware versions are released? |

I hav W810i.... Am unable to increase SMS memory..coz as said...FAR Manager doesnt work with our phone..!!
So how do i do that..!! I kinda searching help for this since long...
