Oh, ok. What about the update service that SE has on their website, does it work?... Or do they have that latest fw available on their site? |

Hi..
I used SE online update software and the DCU-60 USB cable.
Works great!
I'm not sure how to get the firmware, it downloads directly to the the phone from the software.

Thanks. What improvements did it make? I actually have a bug on my fone that it's loosing the keypad tone once I received an SMS or call. Do you also experience that on your fone? |

Weird thing is, the bugg when having a video set as ringtone the phone locks up and keeps the vibrator running aswell as the audio from the video is still there, not that I ever used the video as a ringtone feature, but it's kind of an showstopper bug... |

no, i never use video for calls, but older fw or a branding, sometimes a downloaded game or app, can cause really weird things

Thanks for the info Bob, but I think simulacra is not having a video call.. he's just using his videos as ringtones... |

I found an thread here in UMTS/3G having the same concern as with simulacra.. only they're using k800i... What they did was they edit the video to a lower resolution - 176x144 and were able to make the video and its sound to work as a ringtone. I think it will be much better if you try that first rather than proceeding with the upgrade of the fw. |

I updated my phone through the online update service yesterday. Worked perfectly.
The size of the update was around 3.5 mb.
The only change I've seen so far, is the change made to the Internet button. Before I just had to press it, now I have to hold it down for a second or more before the browser starts. |

Y@m0t, all my vids are 176x144 res from the get go, albeit they are commercial vids I reencoded, there might be a size limit as to how much system mem the phone allocates which causes the phone to hang when a call comes along.
I tried to record a 5 sec long clip with the built in cam and that worked nicely...
I tried the update service today, and got no new update, the phone is branded by telia sweden.
Preset FW is R1ED001, tried both the built in update service and the app from SE, no upgrade necessary...

@ simulacra:
Ok. So, that could be a product limitation though... BTW, where are you located?
@emattda: May I also ask where you're located too? |
