Im a non-smoker (however, I dont mind a cigar on special ocassions ) what pisses me of, is all these people who say smoking should be banned. Let me say this. wtf has it got to do with you? Its a smokers right to smoke. I they want to smoke let them.
Why should smoking be banned? So you can dictate peoples rights? We live in a democracy dont we? Smoking is perfectly legal, in that case if people want to smoke let them smoke. Even if it is bad for them.
Danny made such an excellent and intelligent post. Alexandra, its people's rights. We have the government who are preaching to smokers to stop. Even a brain dead kid would know that is propaganda. If any thing, the government would want more people to smoke, think how much money they get from it. Alexandra, if you think about it logicly, smoking will NEVER be banned, like it or not. The government make soo much money from it, the last thing on there mind is to ban it! Banning it will just take peoples rights away aswell.
In Britain the smoking ban is a joke in my mind. A pub is a social place for adults, smoking in a smokers mind can be a social activity. People have been smoking in pubs for years. They should have every write to relaxe over a pint and a fag.

Just out of interest, how much do you (all) smoke a day? I tend to smoke 5-10 a day (depending on how busy work is) but a night out it can double.
Would you say 10 a day is excessive?
i would think 10 is acceptable but im no expert....my neighbour used to be on 60 a day
A L E X, you aint seen nothing mate. Just come to Cyprus lol. My uncles smoke well over 60 a day. There human chimneys.
One of my uncles is 76 and smokes about 100 a day! But the diet over there is so much more healthy. Maybe thats whats keeping them alive. However one of my unlces suffered a serious stroke because of smoking now, he has brain damage and is in a wheel chair. Some arnt so lucky

Well guess what, I smoke 0 a day, and I'll be staying that way for the rest of my life. Why is it suddenly 'sophisticated' to smoke? And yes, even 1 a da is excessive. I can give up anything, why can't you give up smoking? Why? WHY?

Have you ever tried smoking? It's very hard to give up, and stay given up. I'll be having another go soon hopefully. I've heard it said that smoking is more addictive than cocaine and heroin!
I'm guessing you have something against smokers Alexandra, especially considering your completely random and abusive PM you just sent me!

Am I the only one who receives PMs from Alexandra, telling me some "very heartwarming" things? Having enough of this troubled girl! She has some problems...

. . .
Even worse with smokeless tobacco like Copenhagen snuff. This you usually keep in your mouth throughout the day and get an endless supply of nicotine. I was hooked on this stuff longer than most of you kids here at Esato have been alive. But I quit after reading that it causes cancer of the pancreas and have been off this for three months, twenty-nine days, fourteen hours and seventeen minutes.

Looks like I'm not the only one then!
Oh well, once my duty-free fags have gone I'm looking to give up, and hopefuly stay given up, apart from the health problems it's damned expensive!
Edit: I'm wondering if a certain person posting in this thread has had too much of another dangerous drug - alcohol!

Alexandra, im sure all the smokers understand the harm it does. However you have no right to send insulting pm's and flood a thread with unwanted comments, against the rights of smokers. You have to understand it is very hard to give up. Why you are getting so personal and insulting other members because of a hard addiction is unknown to me.
Alexandra, imagine you giving up somthing you crave and need. It is hard. You need to understand that smokers do want to quit, but it is a difficult task. Please respect the rights of people. Yes smoking is a bad habit but it has nothing to do with you. Please take your un-needed and unhelpful rants elsewhere |
