K800 Firmware Overview |

The firmware of the K800/K790 can be upgraded either over the air by selecting Settings / Update Service / Search for update or via the more traditional (and potentially cheaper) method of the Sony Ericsson Update Service. In order to use SEUS you will need to have internet access (preferably Broadband) and attach your phone to your PC via the supplied USB cable.
On my 3-branded phone I cannot upgrade over the air, and nor can I use the SEUS as I don't run windows. What are my options?

You can provide more information about which particular OS you are using.

I am on a Mac and boot camp is the only stable solution for me, virtualisation isn't stable. |

Hi there, my K800 has a strange behaviour: sometimes while using the joystick, the screen powers down "a là" power saving mode... at that point need to press the "<-" key to bring LCD on again.
Did someone experienced the same?
Hints:
1) firmware version:R1JG001
2) Two firmware updates a go, the update process stopped, and was afraid the phone couldn't boot up again. But it did.
Try this:
1. Enable screensaver
2. Disable screensaver
I had a similar problem before and it got fixed by doing the above steps. |

Bootcamp is still virtualization but anyway, I have used both Parallels and VMWare and they work fine. Maybe it is your Mac configuration.

Sorry no way I know. You can maybe borrow a friends Mac with Parallels/VMWare on it, or a Windows PC, or go to your local SE service center.

Another question guys, is there a way to let any key to "wake up" the phone? I don't like the "<-" key as the only one to wake up the phone |

Wake up as in bring the phone out of standby/screensaver mode? Any key (not just the "<--") works except the joystick doesn't it? Lol

Simple. R1KG001 isn't available for your phone CDA (customisation/language group) yet. Remember, not all CDA gets it as of now. Check www.wotanserver.com to find out which language group gets R1KG. |
