Tof means time of flight. Sony sells tof sensors, (measures distance using light)but for industrial purposes the last time I recall. I remember rading an article that they will use it in mobile phones

TOF sensor = laser in sony phones. You can check service tests in Any flag after XZ to see TOF test |

Have anyone know why there's no reviewer get the XZ2P yet ? is it because the phone is not ready even for review ?

Only ppl that dig into weibo knew XZ2P was coming.
No tech site reports before the announcement.
Sony did not even bother to let ppl know the phone was coming.
This is very suspect. If this was the main phone, why would they just do this?
They were much more excited last year in february.
The announcemente of XZ2P was just meh like XZ1.
These actions just made ppl believe something else is real for september.
I doubt they will send phone to tech sites before early June.
Mainly because some stuff will arrive as update later.
It will get critics because " incomplete" device.

The device is far from complete, any only a selected few has actually touch it, let alone review it. The only time it has been shown was the event it Beijing last week, and even then, it was behind a sealed cages.

The problem with XZ2P is far more complex, involving the dual cam and its "AUBE" ISP. Both software and hardware side. Left-over issue that came after the change, the previous pre-modification "Premium" actually very much qualified for mass production right away.
The models at Beijing actually dummy demo for demonstration purposes. Why i know it? Coz I got a hand on it...
For the "silent" introduction for XZ2P, its the consequence of changing the Premium so close to the introduction date, broke all SoMC plans till day.
After several days of watching ppl made up info, im actually had a nice laugh...ppl taking my words and cook it up pretty wild....
Mirai is Ambient Flow, and that will stick for a long time, but not applied for one exotic device....
