No.. no programs are running when you start.. only the Symbian OS.
Of cause it's hard to tell if something is running as invisible... I meen, something that yoy don't see in the task manager.

You can save RAM through removing some of the applications. Like the Computer, you used RAM when using different kinds of program. When you start your computer, there are some applications that already running that used some RAM. That is what i'm talking about joel not the memory of the phone. What i ask the p990i user is when you open the phone, are there programs already running that used more RAM? Check it on the task manager..

@Joel: Try removing the demo of the phone from tools -> controlpanel -> other -> uninstall
Just removing this made the phone have 15.1 mb at start up. I am thinking of removing the golf game, as it is 4.7mb, that will probably give a lot of memory |

Those bugs can be fixed with a new firmware, right? It pretty much influences my decision in buying the preorder from expansys or not... If it's not hardware-related it can be fixed later. Shouldn't be too hard to find out for you my friend

If that's the case joel,SE must do something with it. I can wait until october but not later than november for the p990i. Are the m600i problems already fixed?? If they can fixed the m600i OS so as the p990i. |

Johnex,
did you already remove the game? what is the result??? did it help? Does the p990i has a default internet application alternate to the opera? |

Masseur, would you swap your TyTN for 2*P990s?

Backing up the phone now, it rebooted, and the screen shows backup in progress. Then i will remove the game from the internal memory |

I don't think that will do mutch for the free memory that you can se under "status". The game doesn't start up when you start the phone and I see no reson that the game would use working memory (like RAM) when you start only the phone. You will get more free space to store things in your phones memory though.
Well.. I hope I'm wrong thou...
Edit:
By the way.. I havn't restarted the phone since yesterday afternoon and I have only 4.6mb free memory now! GAH!! And I have closed down all programs!!

@endeler,
As i know it has nothing to do with bugs anymore....
IMHO It has to do with a basic rule in marketing that se people follow...
No marketing activity in August...
That is why they clearly told me... (for the first time!!) ....''NO MORE DELAY....1ST WEEK OF SEPTEMBER''
