I'm trying to post the pics...hopefully I'll get to see the W900i soon.
and a nice size comparison.
Honestly I can't say whether this phone would interest me...like all SE phones it looks shitty through a computer monitor...like the K750 I think this one will win a lot of people over once they hold it in hand.
I'm guessing this one will retail for about R3900-R4500 when it comes out sometime in December or early in the New Year.
Again the operative word for all bargain hunters is: WAIT. Like all SE's before it the W900i will also suffer a price drop a couple of months after it's release. Expect to a see price drop for the W800i in the New Year. History has a funny way of repeating itself with SE.
PS: Sony Ericsson net profit rose to euro104 million from euro90m a year ago. They're also expecting to ship 760 million phones, higher than the expected 720 million.

Ain't that nice of them? Ebucks sent me a letter today crediting me with about 1800 ebucks stemming from a number i used ages ago. Only used it for a few months but i received many calls on it... Maybe i can get something nice from Makro when i've accumulated enough.

Weird thing happened to me today, my bank(FNB) called me and offered me a new credit card...like the Borg, resistance was futile and I accepted the offer even though I'm dead set against the accumulation of debt.
Buying air tickets and making other travel arrangements should be easy though.
Overall it seems like I've given in to the capitalist greed that has beset the black middle class in the country.

Yeah,I destroyed both my ABSA Gold (what a laugh!) credit card and my UK Lloyds TSB credit card at the beginning of the year.I swore to rid myself of ALL debt,which happened in February just before I destroyed the cards.
When I paid my last debt off,this whitey subjected the Poms outside the bank to an impromptu 'toyi-toyi' demo.
What a feeling of relief,asif a ball and chain had been removed.
I refuse to allow myself be bogged down with any debt or have any bank holding me by the short and curlies due to credit card debt.
I just use my Lloyds TSB debit card,which is still international visa,but directly linked to my cheque account.
Having said this,I will have ONE big debt to pay next year,with the pending/imminent house purchase...
I wish more people bothered to do the maths of how much they would be paying for things that they have bought with their credit cards,and only pay the minimum amount back to the bank each month...man,you're the bank's best friend then!
I guess will-power is so difficult to maintain in this day and age,when all these nice things are so easily accessible with 'credit' in your name... |

The only reason I bought it was for the sake of convenience...I'm not much of a spender but I thought about the inconvenience I experienced while on holiday when I tried to buy an air ticket in Durban. Would've been much easier with a phone and a credit card.
I hope to keep this new acquisition a secret from my gf who absolutely loves spending money.

Banks, they make money out of you and you wont notice. Although it is still convenient to use a credit card than carry cash or a debit card. If I had the same buying convenience without a credit card, that would be nice. It seems they time you, they come with offers of increased limits and new products at the time you think you need them.
But well a credit card makes buying easy, makes life easy, at a high price though. I heard earlier that South African banks are expensive. Will hang on to my card. |

I walked into my bank a few years ago, demanded a pair of scissors from the Info desk, then snipped that mother into tiny little pieces in full view of a nervous security guard. Best minute of my life, that was... Next, i want to do the same at the filling station... Fill my tank with water or something equally silly.

One thing I'll be able to do with my new credit card is make online purchases. Browsed eBay this afternoon but didn't see anything that interested me. |

Now I'm no beeeg Motorola fan,although my A008 Accompli served me very well when I had it,but the UK network,O2,have quite a good promotion at the moment with the V547.
It comes complete WITH Motorola bluetooth headset.On PAYG,how does £59.99 (approx. R690) sound?
Not too shabby for a bluetooth phone,with camera,video,etc.Pity about the 5mb shared memory,though...

@the wanqsta: It's also got EDGE. From what I've heard on Esato, O2 aren't too bad when it comes to branding their phones.

Now that doesn't sound bad at all. And as Brix says, their branding isn't quite as garish and in-your-face as Vodafone, e.g. Somehow i doubt most of us using SE and Nokia would easily change brands. I know i wouldn't do it easily since i've grown very accustomed to Nokia's UI. I once owned one of those little Moto Messenger goodies, wasn't too bad to use, i have to admit. Could only make calls once the headset was plugged in, but it was superb for texting.

Doh!Thanks. I shoulda remembered to mention that,especially as it is something that is often mentioned around these parts.
You're right about O2.Their phones have virtually no branding,except their BenQ phones,which are branded as 'O2' phones.I have had handsets from all the UK networks,except Vodafone,as this is just such a rip-off network here.The only worthwhile,economical promotion they have is the 'Stop the Clock' off-peak deal,where you pay 3p to speak for 60 minutes.God forbid you want to make calls to other networks during peak times with Vodafone...I hope Tahir is reading this. 
O2 does get the prize for truly minimal branding.Their PAYG phones are locked though, like all the other networks in the UK. |
