That case is great! I wonder if it is possible to make one locally, i.e. just find a good carpenter and show him the case. Just a thought.

I love my screen and I have compared it to a friend's S4 and Note 3, and I still love it. Sure, viewing angles are not perfect, but straight on, i think it has a slight edge over most, if not all, other phones (that I have seen).
Just been in my local CPW, P4U and 3 store, all the XZ1 demo units in those shops have displays that look like mine. I doubt I have a faulty unit. The Note 3 has an over saturated display compare to the XZ1 but I really prefer the Samsung.
Still waiting for the latest update that supposedly fixes the image quality issues, cant come quickly enough for me.
I had numerous re-booting issues with the Note and Wi-Fi connections were dreadful, so I decided it had to go.
Just out of curiosity I don't get the notification light pulsing for new email's, only texts and missed calls. Is this correct ?

@Lemmy31 I get notifications on LED for all that seems odd. As for screen I think it looks dull ish on the standard wallpaper if you change it to a more colourful one you can see the difference. Nokia has had image quality issues on early software too not just Sony.

Thanks for the help guys. I wasn't getting the notification light for my Gmail but my Exchange email for work was fine. Ive just restarted the phone and all seems good now.

i'm totally sold on that wooden case, but what about the front? it's exposed... i'm not a fan of film protectors to say the least and they are useless against drops. does extra slim wooden folder case exists in the world? one that protects the front as well,  would look pretty unique, i would buy it.
