Because of some problem with the p990i until now, maybe october is the good time to buy the phone on what the output shows. I hope SE can fixed the problem especially the memory of the phone while working.. Does the m600i have the same problem while using it and the memory goes low???

The phone is released IMHO...

The situation with Opera is mainly due to opera itself, from what i understand...the code wasnt truly optimized for UIQ 3, it was just a port

edit: I see the "coming soon" tag returned to SE uk site, but not to others: Sweden, Portugal, etc

edit 2:

looks like mobile-gadgets is gonna get some swedish p990īs to send to their costumer while they donīt have more stock...

Please keep apart the memory that are used to store things on the phone and the RAM.

The problem isn't that SE has filled it up with programs and stuff. The problem is the memory the phone use when it runs programs and it's OS.

Storage is no problem since you can buy up to a 8GB memory-stick and put in.

if the P990 is like the M600 SE will have included a lot of apps and content in the user memory which not eveyone needs.

Spoke to Orange today regarding upgrading to the P990 and was told that it would be out 'some time this month' although, surprise surprise, he couldn't give me a specific date or possible price. Now with these mooted delays who knows when it will be out.

The best screen protector I have used is made by Martin Fields. The can be bought at the online store doml.com (a very reliable store):

Here, on page 17 you can see most of the programs and functions that are installed.. then there is a lot of programs (try and buy) that has install-files on the phone but they are not installed. You can install them if you want to.. I tried wayfinder trial for 5 days. All works fine exept the sound that kind of strobe.. irritating.

And once more.. the storage-memory isn't the problem. It's the working memory.. the RAM.

As long as you don't run the web browser it's stable I think...

It's mostly the browser that causes problems so far.
Specially when multitasking.

You can save RAM through removing some of the applications. Like the Computer, you used RAM when using different kinds of program. When you start your computer, there are some applications that already running that used some RAM. That is what i'm talking about joel not the memory of the phone. What i ask the p990i user is when you open the phone, are there programs already running that used more RAM? Check it on the task manager..

same problem as the m600i, so I don't think it is specific to the P990. The browser seems to be causing problems, especially so if you try to use an application that also used internet. In my case, it was Blackberry connect.

BB Connect worked fine with other web access programs, but once the browser came on (if it ever did), then the phone usually froze for a long long time or I had to restart - talking about m600i.

Returned m600, bought k800, waiting for the p990
