Galaxy S5 Mini announced with IP67 but WITHOUT protective cover over the USB port!
I hope this feature, which has been available for a while in Japan, makes it way to more devices in Europe. I hope to see it starting with the Z3/Z3c.
Any rumours on that? |

i'm not sure if i like that idea.
if we forget to remove water that may have remained within the concealed areas of the port, that will be a problem when we connect the device to our computers or worse, chargers.
it's ok for the headphone jack because it's easier to clean and the device attached to it is not connected to AC or a high voltage power source. it's a different case with USB ports. |

I think the picture is a representation of what might happen if you plug something into the still wet USB port.
It is actually an interesting question and I would just assume that the manufacturer has thought about that beforehand or there is a warning included, something like "Don't use the port within 30 minutes of contact with water" |

Improper use of the user is a bad excuse not to add waterproof usb or other x feature. i'm sure and hope it becomes a standard in sony's high end devices starting from z3 and z3c. less flaps = better. |

Hmm, so anyone speculating on whether the Z3 or its compact variant will have wireless charging?

xperia z3 compact looks amazing. It's hard to see how big the bezels are in that picture but I hope the overall size is similar to z1c |

Z3c should be xa 4.7" and same size as Z1c but thinner and front is not black on coloured versions
I will get more info end of this month |

recent rumors regarding display size of z3 compact says 4.5"-4.6". But as long as it keeps its compact form factor I'm fine with 4.7"
A bigger replaceable battery and I would definitely consider it as my next device. |

Replaceable battery is highly unlikely.
4.7 inch screen in the Z1c's body size would be outstanding though. If only the software was as good as that of a nexus device or the Moto X.
Software is the only area where Sony is lacking.
Updates to new android versions take far too long for such a supposedly "light" skin, which makes me think bk they make far too many changes under the hood, than is perhaps necessary.
