Well I own an 03 Clio 1.2 16v Dynamique. Which is nothing like you say. What model did you get? If rental companies are anything to go by they use only the bottom models the cheapest ones - I'm guessing you got a 1.2 8v Authentique model at best which isnt going to be the best for motorway travelling - but the dynamique, expression and models above the base authentique are good
Also I drive to scotland and back in mine, and from sheffield to Gt Yarmouth and back along A roads, and motorways and it is fine, so believe me its fine

its a 16v 1.2. Have no idea what model!! 54 plate. And I have to say compared to my Saab and the Toyota Avensis I had the other week on hire its CRA*!!!! And working on my experience of other Renaults I will have a collection of "spare" parts in the glovebox by the end of the week!LOL
BTW its just cost me £28 in petrol for just over 330 miles, doesnt seem much too good on fuel either!
Chill out, the clio obviously suits your needs, for mine, well its not much good!!

Well yeah, if you compare it to two much more expensive and bigger engined cars, then it will not match up at all!
However, comparing it to other cars of its class, its one of the safest and best fuel consumptions, and also for your money you get a lot of kit.
I paid £6995 for mine in 2003, and it has CD player, ABS, Alloys, loads of gadgets (it was 6 months old when I bought it) Does for me as I'm young so cant have an expensive powerful car
But if I did, I'd buy a top of the range clio, modus or megane from renault as its a brand I trust - hey my mum buying them and having relatively no issues for 23 years cant be wrong
hehe - next time for motorway driving ask them to get you a clio but one with a bigger engine, perhaps the dynamique 1.6 16v that I'm hoping to upgrade to when my insurance is cheaper |
