Mhh I think this article could be much better. They bring on some subjects but don't go deeper in it altough it does really matter about Sonys evolution. There is no word about the beginning of the XPERIA line with X1,X2 and later X10 and so on...
Exactly. And also:
In 2005, Sony Ericsson released the K750i, which has a 2-megapixel camera on board. Way ahead of its time, the phone simply didn’t catch on as well as the company had hoped. The W800i was the first “Walkman” phone, capable of playing music from a Sony Memory Stick, but also failed to resonate with customers.
I couldn't disagree more .

Yes, if I think back some years there were a lot of friends who had the K750i or w810i. But I'm from Germany and this article is from the american view. Seems that there wasn't the big success like here. |

Because a sticker on two so-called phones that are turned off is so hard to fake, especially since it comes from an "anonymous tipster". I'm telling you, it won't be happening. We'll see either 1GB, 2GB or 4GB in phones. 1,5GB and 3GB would probably cost more to manufacture than respectively 2GB and 4GB due to the very low demand for those 768MB/1536MB RAM chips (if they are even made, which I doubt).
And while you have posted a lot of correct rumours and I am quite grateful for that, you have also posted things that are blatantly wrong. The fact that the amount of RAM on these 'rumours' is highly improbably to actually be on a device pretty much tells me that these rumours are pretty much guesswork on your part (or your source feeding you disinformation). |

You know how big the mobil phone business is atm?! If only one manufacturer makes those chips for Samsung, LG, Sony, Huawei,... it won't be more expensive than 2 or 4 GB. I don't know if it will happen, I just want to say your arguments are invalid. |

Well I am pretty sure my source is not giving me wrong info, let's just wait till MWC and see who is right |

Let me remind you that you've been wrong before Ramu , so yes, let's wait for MWC |

Oh so that means 1GB/4GB.
Well 1.5GB/3GB was not by me but zomgbbqftw from NeoGaf. I wonder how he was wrong |

Well all of you guys are correct, I'm a computer geek and know this..
You can have 3GB of Dual channel using 2GB + 1GB configuration ( or 1GB + 512MB for a 1.5GB high midranger device ), it's called ( Dual Channel Asymmetric Mode ), the Memory controller must support this mode, in this mode the Dual Channel speed will be only accessible in the first 2GB, the 3rd GB will have regular 1 Channel speed...
But again, this can happen only if the memory controller support this, if not... then it will run as a single channel mode...
For those who might ask, Intel has this and they called it "Flex Mode"...

Exactly. I didn't know about this but Rubenos explained it to me earlier. I've done some googling since and it looks like only Intel actually does this (they might have it patented). I highly doubt any of the mobile SoC's have memory controllers that support this.

I think it is true sami :<
But there is a good explanation for it (see top comment on Xperiablog)
Well the one think that you don't understand is that this is NOT a simple screen protector, Sony refers to it as "shatter proof sheet" over the mineral glass, this means that this is not a screen protector you are supposed to peel off if it gets scratched, you have to apply the screen protector that comes in the box (all Xperia's since X10 have one inside the box). Well.. this shatter proof sheet protects the glass from falls and scratches, in case you drop your phone the screen simply won't break, it's not impossible but it will be difficult to break with it applied on the glass as it absorbs the vibrations. |

^ that logic of the top comment is flawed considering the "shatter proof sheet" is the screen protector. First, I did not receive a separate screen protector in addition to what was already applied in the factory (the shatter proof sheet) when I got my X10. Second, even when removing the shatter proof sheet from my X10 to apply my 3rd party screen protector, the "SONY ERICSSON" logo was on the glass, not the sheet. Therefore, it's logical to conclude that not printing the logo on the glass itself was a temporary measure for pre-production units as it was faster/easier than printing on the glass itself or Sony is simply trying to save money by printing on the sheet and not the glass.
If the latter is true, then i'm disappointed for such a premium device.

I hope It just for the preproduction unit or a prototype.....
I don't want my z to lose the Sony logo just because of the protector sheet ( |

i really hope that os not true!
Anyway, I hope Sony releases another phone this year with similar features and thickness as Xperia Z but with the same width and length as Xperia ZL. |
