I agree with that... a year ago, a certain virus spread cover bluetooth here in the phils. which foces the unfortuate user to re flash their phone. this "incident" as I may call was etched into the history of cellphone usage.

nowadays, one wud ask if our phone has a virus berfore turning theirs on.

BTW the virus only affects nokia symibian phones so i don't worry about getting infected. yay SE!!!!!

@Residentevil

Older Nokia's are the best.

After I read the previous page I sent a 'Bitchslap' to a phone only to find out it was a manager sitting two seats away from me. He just picked up his phone and tut tutted!

I never said Bluetooth looks for the weakest link to communicate, I said successful connection between two Bluetooth devices relies on two way communication between the two, which relies directly on the weakest device of the two being able to talk to and hear the other device. Like you’ve said yourself, a connection would drop if the weakest Bluetooth device wasn’t able to communicate with the other. Bluetooth like other types of wireless connections relies on both devices being able to talk to each other, if only one device can hear the other, and not both ways the connection would never happen in the first place.

As for your point B, I agree completely, I never said different Bluetooth classes would not be able to communicate (which it sounds like your saying), or that they’d struggle. Of course a class 1 device will have a more reliable connection with a class 2 device, but then it doesn’t also mean that you could use a class 2 10m ranged Bluetooth headset 100m away from your class 1 100m ranged phone. Its simply not that simple.

I think you’ve misunderstood my points regarding Bluetooth communication, since you seem to be saying the exact same things as myself but with a little more umm, what appears to be confusion to me.

I have done tests with a couple of 100m dongles and 10m devices, and I can never get much beyond the range that would be expected of the 10m devices on a good day. 20m is about the best I could achieve.

Consequently, though I've been able to find no proof to support it, I've concluded that the 100m devices will only connect at that range with other 100m devices.

However, at 10m ranges, communication between all classes of devices is seamless and reliable. Currently, I use a 100m dongle with my K750.

@ max_wedge - thanks for your input. Ive never been able to perform what Prom1 has claimed either except for once when i managed to get my K700i to bluejack a S700i from about 50m away.

If you'd like to me tell more, just say.

@Borat:

http://www.howardforums.com has an entire section dedicated to Motorola phones. Usually anywhere from 200 - 300 members online on that particular forum at any given time.

Sent the good ol' "Your fly is open" to a Z520 but the owner did not notice it, so I got no fun out of it.

I DID THIS AT THE MOVIES

I was in a movie theatre the other day and it was a sad quite part so i did a blutooth search with my Z550 and then found a W300i so i sent a blutooth message saying that you should turn your phone of during a movie (even tho mine was on lol) and he the owner had it on loud and it made a loud alerting sound and every one turned around and stared at him.

Im so mean.
