@tiger indeed, i do miss magnesium belt on later models. but if u dismantle an r520, its a pretty durable construction. have u ever tried a real proto of it witg the bt games? or t36?

What is a real proto? I have a 520 TU2 of BT-development edition updated to R4A SW. Works stable. BT games I have only played twice with a friend of mine on holidays. T36 ... nice yellow handset. I was only able to have a look at it, but wasn't allowed to play with.

I love the black keypad on it, the grey one wasnt the best choice imo, same with r520. i always wanted to have the le mans edition of it, but had no chance. generally i was always satisfied with the cover colours of the fones, the master choose always very simple and elegant ones. do u prefer the grey or the gold edition of t68?

Yes, there have been some nice colours for cover. I already saw copper, silver, blue and darkgrey. Also I know about the green cover of UMTS proto. Some photos of service manuals are with a black one and on CeBit 2000 there was a deep red 520. Never seen it again! What is this for a special edition you wrote about? T68 colours ... I have a golden and a grey one. But the golden one always has a place in the collection. I give it sometimes to my wife because I like the colour but don't want to use it for my own. It looks a bit too expensive and/or feminin like R600 luminous champagne. Great colour for a womens handset.

Interesting.. i have some T39 batteries and R310s and they are all as good as new even if they are made years ago. Apparently my batteries havenīt heard of your theory..
EDIT: I donīt know if i am the lucky one or itīs you who has had bad luck.. but in my case the old/new batteries have been just fine.

Hard to say... all my batts are BUS10/11 and they're now 3-6yrs old.
Easily 500+ cycles on the most-used ones, <50 for the least used.
(nb I've had 1 (came in T28 box) replaced under warranty 5 yrs ago.)
How are you testing yours btw?
Mine all still charge up to "55 hrs standby" on the T28, but when
we drain them making calls - the life drops away very sharply
and barely get 2 mins' talktime before it shutsoff.
My wife calls hers a "one call phone".

The T28s had a dual colour LED. When the phone is charging or the battery is low it is Red. When the phone has a signal and ok it is green. Thats how mine works anyway.

LED blinks red when the batt is low too.

Beige is pretty unique, but the Grey is a classic & my favourite. |
