According to Sony Ericcsson Update Service , I have the lastest SW.
Thanks for your help.

Most X10 devices comes with 1.0.14 preinstalled, but for some reason not everybody can update to 1.0.16 despite that the SW update is there (update service says they have the latest SW). Better check what SW version is actually installed on your device to ensure it really is the latest (you can't trust the update service on this it appears).

As it started being sold at the end of march/beginning april you can't expect a new firmware so soon.

See my comment above.

Is there a way of saving pictures from facebook directly onto the phone? I could do this on my C905.

Can someone test if various Xvid and Divx formats play on the phone? Just so i can watch mmy tv programs during lunch and not have to convert them to mp4 or something else...

Out of the box it does not. You need to purchase yxflash or something similar to be able to view divx and xvid.

@mikslp, yes you are right. The screen does not go off immediately but it comes back instantly.

@moogo, i check with the mirror, just to confirm the proximity sensor is working.

oh yea.. $550 would be awesome TJMonkey. Even if it is branded, you could always flash it to standard android with a copy directly from google. and maybe someone will make SE's UX skin available for download somewhere too. so as long as they don't modify the hardware with logos and bullshit... shouldn't be a problem.

You cannot flash a copy of Android straight from Google. That would be nice though.

seems like you can to me?

As was said, that is for the Motorola Droid which is a "Google" handset (same vein as the Nexus One). Any updates in Android are going to HAVE to come straight from Sony Ericsson or a hacker who can root the device.

Congratulations to all the Lucky X10 owners:

Few Questions to ask before i get my X10 since i've stuck to my trusty p990 for the past 5 years!

1) Does it support RSS feeds and can it display the Rss ticker on the homescreen? Really liked that feature on my C905.. was pretty useful for news headlines, sports and medicine updates, the standby ticker function

2) Can i receive "selected calls" only? Does it allow me to make a list of Callers whose calls i want to receive? if yes Is there a maximum limit to the list of callers that i can add to the list? In the C905 the limit was 10 contacts, whereas in the P990 i could set to receive calls from "contacts only" or make an unlimited list of callers. This is a pretty important feature for me since i'm a doctor and need to bar unnecessary calls during operating hours.

3) Support for viewing pdf documents, word, excel and ppt files?

4) Track ID feature there?

5) Can multiple alarms be set and does the alarm ring with the phone switched off? (Stupid p990 )

Thank u

I just got my X10 and I can say YES to 4 and 5.
3. I'm able to view the pdfs too without any trouble, but havent checked with word, excel and ppt files.

I'm not interested in 1 and 2 so I dont have an answer now.

Cheers,

On question 2) you can choose to send a particular contact's call straight to voicemail or not.

I just connected to the PC Companion this morning and it told me that a new software version was available. I'm updating now.

Edit: I'm gonna wait and back up my apps first. I'll do it later on today.

How do I find out which software version I am running?

Thanks.

Mines still running BaseBand 1.0.14, It's a Vodafone handset rather then a sim free one. Is yours a Vodafone / Branded handset?

Thanks
