Ok so its upgrade time again aka give me something good or I'll leave time. I called up last week before the end of 11 months and before I was due an upgrade was offered a

u600
600 mins
500 text
12 month contract
£40 a month

Dont think so, told the girl that voda were offering via mobiles2yourdoor

12 months free
12 month contract
500 mins
500 text
and a u600

Was told to call back when I'm into my 12th month and they would offer something comparative, don't know if it helps I'm a business customer but we'll see how it goes won't we? Going to play the I'm planning on at least another 1 phone on the contract in the next few months so if you want to retain my business then sort it.

Lets see how I get on!!!

I would love it if they gave me that Simplicity deal

"400 Texts and 200mins"

for £15 on a 18 month contract.. there data is improving so if they gave me this deal I would seriousley stay but if not i'll go to three.

seriousley tho I think they should do it im on a 12 month contract atm and I don't mind going on a 18mth contract for that above!

has anyone tried to get this deal with them?

Was originally on £35 p/m 1000 xnet and 100 txts with o2 (k800i), coming to an end in december. Have baggd myself an early upgrade (by almost 3 months), and the deal i got is:

Free N95, online 30 tarrif which is 500 xnet mins and 100 txts, normal price £30, i got it for £15, which i think is a great deal however i'm going to phone them again and see if i can pay maybe £5 more an get more minutes.

They originally offered to keep me on the same tarrif i was on but reduce it to £20. however i wanted the new 'unlimited' data bolt on, but they said this was not possible on the old tarrifs, hence why i got moved to one of the new tarrifs. PS my average bill in total is normally £35 for the tarrif plus the £5 or so insurance.

comparing to 2 the deal i have just got (free n95, 3 month early upgrade, 500 xnet min + 100 txts + 200mb data for £22.50 total), id say a lot of ppl on here are getting rippd off, or just not being smart enough.

Just remember, the ppl at retentions r not robots. they are humans, they all work differently, u will get a diff deal from each person every time u ring, there are no 'set' deals, it just depends on the discretion of the person u get, how much discount he has 2 play with at that time etc etc

don't know exactly what criteria they use, but i assume it must be what your average spend is, rather then what tarrif ur on. i think if you have insurance it makes a big difference as well, as i said i was on a £35 tarrif, an my cousin is on a £35 tarrif, however he wasn't offered as much a discount as i was, i can only assume its b'cos i have insurance as well and he doesn't. my average bill is around £41 p/m, which includes the £5 p/m for insurance.

Can I get a quick idea of what people think,

400 txt
250 mins
100kb
free u600
£15 a month for 12 months.

I'm thinking £180 over the year less £100 or so for selling the u600 as I dont need it makes it a reasonable contract but just annoyed as this year I made £150 prfit but it was through cashback.

I tried to see what they would say about an n95 but they weren't budging on £35 a month for it free.

I have a Pay&Go talkalotmore O2 tarrif, for £15 top-up per month I get 150 xnet minets(2 1/2 Hrs) ,300 free texts and 1Mb of wap.

I still think it's one of the best P&G taffif's I seen. For some reason O2 stopped Xnet talkalotmore to new customers early this year, I think that move cost O2 alot of customers to rival networks.

You forgot 1000 texts too

I have a friend who's been with O2 for years and when she rang up last year to cancel her contract they said to her:

"look, it costs us £420 in admin fee's to cancel your contract, so how about we give you 100 mins and 100 texts for £0 line rental a month for 12 months and you don't get a new phone? Because that's cheaper for us"

So she got a free contract

Online or not, she did it over the phone (the third arm of O2, Direct Sales)

It's best to try towards the end of the month too when they're getting close to the cut off point for targets... they could always be interested in giving you a bit more just to squeeze an extra few £££s commission in
