MTN are planning to launch 3G in the middle of the year. Dunno about Cell C.

If mtn and virgin get 2geta, it cud mean reduced rates. Voda got da ability to drop call and sms rates, they just dnt need to.
If they slash costs wiv 50% and the consumer make the same minutes worth of calls and send the same amt of sms, they wil still make a 100+ % profit.

Isn't MTN busy upgrading their existing 2.5G network to higher data rates (EDGE) they also intend begining 3G trials later in the year !

According to a reliable source, the R2 p mb rates WILL last till end march. After that anything can happen.

FYI
3G and gprs use data my friend.... so I dont think they can make gprs differ from 3G.... The main reason GPRS is cheaper is because 3G was launched... |
