It seems Vodafone must have started paying the graphic designers in their UI department! Previous efforts were shameful. My GX-10 wouldn't be half bad if it wasn't for the tasteless 3 color icons.

Not only seems because it is in that why.
They used to have just white, red and blue and they still have these colours but now with with different colour shade which make all icons look better.

Here in Austria the Z1010 came without software- and hardware-branding. That's why I bought it. I guess the V800 will be without Vodafone hardware-branding here in Austria and in Switzerland, cause Vodafone only owns 49% of our local network A1.

The Z1010 was never part of an exclusivity deal though, whereas the V800 most definately is. Vodafone as a global company seems to have forged the deal with SE to have the handset exclusive for launch to Vodafone and its partner networks (that will be including A1 I guess). During the launch period the only V800's anywhere will be Vodafone Live! branded ones - regardless of how much of a network is owned by Vodafone. You will basically only be able to get the V800 on networks that offer 'Vodafone Live! with 3G' services for a month or two.

That ok though, my current contract does not expire until February, so by then the V800 might be available on other networks.

How many in here will buy V800 with Vodafone 3G contract?
I'm going to do that because I find the other operators worse than Vodafone.

Only network WORSE than Vodafone is Comviq IMO..
In December -05 when my Vodafone contract runs out i will never ever use them again. I could go on and on about phone picking up danish operator, losing signal altogether, SMS´s that take hours to arrive if at all etc etc.
Never had these problems with Telia SE.
V800 seems very nice tho.. hope they release it w.o. the evil empires branding.

Probably between £350-£500

I cant see it going higher than the S700 because it doesnt have such a large screen.

Or u cant juz wait to have the V800.....

@etaab
juz a difference of 0.1inch will increase the price?

As for me... I cant.. Im not in the UK or in a place tat has vodafone network.. but Im ok with V800 vodafone branded IF only they have it sim-free.... so I'll guess gonna wait for sim-free or unbranded.. either way.. cant hav it when it release...

350-500 on a contract? Do you think Vodafone will have any competitive tariffs to Three with 500 xnet voice minutes and 100 texts for under 30 quid. Any ideas on tariffs at all?

The S700 at the carphone warehouse is about 200 quid with a 30 quid a month tariff with only 200 xnet voice minutes. Do you think vodafone will improve on this with their 3G service?

No no, it'll be £350-£500 sim free.

The higher the screen resolution the higher the price usually.

To be honest, rethinking it now i bet it'll be £500-£600 sim free simply because its a S700 but with 3G.

etaab,
I think you are in Africa.
V800 cost £340/€490 without a contract but it is still locked to Vodafone I think?? with 12 months plan it cost about £250/€360. There are more expensive 12 months plans as well but then it will cost less when you buy it and of course more per month.
Vodafone are going to introduce new contract forms on Wednesday along with their new 3G handsets.
You will be able to call to your friend with different contract for free in 60 or 120 minutes and for just a penny or cent (starting fee) you will be able to call other Vodafone users for unlimited time??

Did you guys know that Vodafone has spent 22 billion GBP / ~30 billion EUR on infrastructure and some other things. They expect all new 3G handsets to pay them well and I'm pretty sure they will do fine. They have a stronger portfolio than 3.

"I think you are in Africa." What kind of comment is that to make? Are you trying to say something about Africa that we dont know about?

No McKinley, i meant it would be £350+ sim free, unbranded from SE.

Look at the K700i. Sim free from SE it was £330 upon release.

The S700i was and still is £500.

So, the V800, which in some ways is better than the S700 should be a little bit less than the S700, or a little bit more. Which is it will be up to SE to decide.

Btw, im not from Africa.
