I also really don't understand the reason why they don't include a normal 2,5 inch plug. The headsets they use aren't made for music and they just don't sound good. I want to use a headphone of my own choice.
The strange thing is that the SO505is features a special connector onto which you can connect a remote.
The remote has a normal 2,5 inch plug. Take a look here, and here

 should release something that the nokia n-gage came with. you plug it into the headphones thing and plug it into the tv and you can record sounds off the tv!
my mate has on his ngage (much to my disapproval  ) a  funny bit from dumb and dumber where jim go's:
"Hey, wanna hear the most annoying sound in the world? aaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrghhhhhhheeeeeeeee!"
he has it as his ringtone it is proper class when were on the bus and its all queit and all you can hear is jims funny voiice then a sqwaking sound it is so funny.

I agree with you. if I had to choose between the S700 and the SO505is I would go for the last one. There's something about the S0505is which I can't describe. Maybe it's the colors they come in (I love the white one).
Maybe SE should release additional colors besides silver.

@sharkymark i agree SE in this part of the world is so stiff iyīs like they dont dare to make a phone thats looks a littel diffrent.. I am for SE all the way but look at nokia they starting to make that kinda phone that looks new ! (but they have no SO505is)

I think that the Japanese are more open to new different thinks. Because of that they make some of the craziest things. Here in Europe, like you said, we're more conservative. Why change something if it's succesful (which isn't always bad).
I do think you can see some of the Japanese influences on today's SE (European) models. The crazy stuff from Japan would only be appriciated by a few people. SE is a business and wants to make a profit. You don't make a profit if only a few people buy your products.

I hope comes up with a version that has a scroll bar like the SO505i. I think wap or web browsing (if what says is true) would be so much better to do with a scroller rather than a directional pad. but no jog dial please. I switch hands a lot when using my phone and I don't find switching hands with a jog dial easy. |

Yeah, a jogdial sucks.I've had a J5 and when i was surfin' wap was a pain in the @ass.The joystick or directional pad r allrite I am gonna get it anyway unless some1 comes with same features at a smaller price. The price tag is very important.
