Sorry, I didn't go to the SB Cup, it coincided with the Level 2 Southern Tagalog Open at BRPG's range in Batangas City where I participated. Regarding SB's gun, if it looks like a CZ, aside from the Sphinx, could it have been the CZ 97 which is in .45 ACP or CZ75 Standard IPSC in .40 ? Did you compete in the SB Cup?
Regarding the Punisher movie, don't get me wrong, that's mean enough for me. I was comparing the comic book's version to that movie's version and the comic book version of the guy is meaner, in words and deeds.

I am a bit of a buff, but don't ever really want a real gun. I'm more into the replicas and Airsoft. I recently bought myself an mp5a5 (Extendable stock version) and a USP pistol. Before you comment, the mp5 has NOTHING to do with counterstrike. If i liked CS that much, I'd have gotten the Steyr Aug. However, I chose the USP over others 'cause of CS. Aw well, I like them both.
If anyone here goes to airsofting sites in Eversley (Ambush Wargames) or there-abouts, let me know. Lots of fun.

Don't pay much attention to firearms, but used to be a keen ft shooter.Still got my theoben rapid 7,and enjoy a crack in the fields now and again. Also got a crossman1377 pump up pistol, which is the second most powerful air pistol on sale.

I haven't seen dates and venue for the November gunshow. Haven't even seen any posters yet. Anyway, there had been complaints about high prices at the gunshows, so maybe, they should start thinking about giving REAL DISCOUNTS next time. A Sig P220 was being offered for P60t at the gunshow!!! It used to be priced at just P48t last year. |

doc,
i know you are a big-bore fan .....here's something you must've missed at the show: the S&W 500 ....a real baby! check out that very long spent-cartridge ejector. just the size of that ejector under the barrel will tell you that the bullet is huge.
more of its big numbers:
Php97k for a unit.
Php80.oo per round.
(excuse the blurred pictures. it's just a cellphone-cam)

What! Its already available here!! Too bad I missed it. I would've wanted to handle it or at the least see it personally. What gun store had it in display? (I'm guessing its Twin Pines) The price is a bit steep but I just like to check it out. Did they have the long barreled version? Even with the compensator, I'm sure the recoil of that short barreled beast would be something to remember! not to mention the size of the muzzle flash. Sorry for the barrage of questions. Thanks

doc,
you're right, Twin Pines sells it. no, i didn't see any other barrel sizes other than that one i handled. the bullets are only about to arrive this month, they said. and i could tell no one manufactures the bullets locally. so ....you have to rely on twin pines for your ammo supply. unless you can pull some strings and order some by yourself, via mail or LBC? |

Thanks, I think I'll pass on this one. Just want to see and handle it. No regular supply of ammo will prove risky and your investment may turn into a white elephant. I'm also into digital photography at the moment and I'm saving up for a Canon EOS 20D so new firearm purchases will have to take a backseat..... for now

the CANON EOS 20-D ....yes, another expensive shooting gadget. But definitely a good choice.

Isn't that a beauty! that or the Nikon D70. I bought a Canon S1 IS a month ago and I do love using it, with its SLR "like" manual control settings and 10x optical zoom and great picture quality. I even bought all of its accessories like the tele and wide converters but as you learn more about photography, upgrading to a digital SLR is the logical next step to have more control of the captured image and interchangeable lenses. Its a bit expensive but the EOS 1D Mk II and 1Ds Mark II, more so. The 1Ds Mark II costs about 450,000 php compared to the 20D's 102,000 php list price. If only money grew on trees
