Apple IPhone 5 Thread And Discussion |

Every new iPhone is pretty much guaranteed to sell better than the one before it though. The smartphone market has grown so much in the last few years that feature phones are pretty much budget phones only now.

I say this just to piss Bonovox off (being cheeky)
I miss my iPhone 5 pictures taken from it are too large for IP4S screen, there is no auto adjust until I pinch out.
I'll be getting it back this week though. then I'll repair it and see if I can trade for another 64GB Unlocked in Black.
Boring: this term is used WAY TOO often without a full explanation (without including restrictions), its almost just regurgitating verbatim posts elsewhere. Icons in a grid, icons in a folder? this is on EVERY damn mobile OS everywhere - there is no difference. Actually the icons on iOS are of better picture resolution quality than what I've experienced on Android (Sony/LG's apart from that generalization).
I have a sinking suspecision that iOS7 or 8 will have a major overhaul a complete UI change; well that is my brain trying to reason with boredom. Regardless I enjoy using iOS because it works for my needs and continues to do so without me requiring to tweak the funk out of it: I do this with computers, servers, exchange mailbox reporting/group/mailbox permissions/VPN troubleshooting of groups/users, creating new VPN groups communications Cisco VOIP, video conference and Cisco Jabbar setups ... I have NO damn time to troubleshoot my smartphone like I used to back in the day. Yes I'd like flexibility, yes I STILL need to record some conversations between my ex and myself (Symbian/Android/BB give me this) ... so I'll be looking to BB10's debut and may jump on board with that new platform (I do Jnr Admin on BES5.0.4 and soon Mobile Fusion for testing before we/IT at work considers BES10 - not everyone likes iOS/Android and the travel costs are insane: $1000/3days, $4-6K for 2 wks, $10K for 4 days in Russia; various sites with Maps running amongst other apps).
I'd like to see what if anything at all those that dislike iOS do like from it, or why people dislike Apple entirely; especially those that have only read about patent news fights or seen someone else's iOS device only.

I'll tell you what i like from iOS.
- a reliable OS that doesnt crash much
- fluid UI and great keyboard when entering text
- tons of apps
- its pretty
But thats about it. Theres a few other plus points but they're also similar to whats available with other operating systems so not worth mentioning.
As for what i dislike about Apple, well we've discussed that before so no need to keep ranting on about me.

You can't make google maps your default maps app... funny how Microsoft got in trouble with IE for that same reason, but its okay if apple does it with their maps. |

Hmm personally I think a iPhone 5 would be extremly piss worthy to annoy them
especially from the Scuffgate thing ! lol
however Apple are exchanging these proned phones so its technically really great
Ive had 3+ iPhone 4S handsets now within a whole year its really essential to have the Applecare
if owning a Apple product. Apple have really great customer service instore and on the phone
plus I really love how the support is a Worldwide support solution especially from my last call to them
resulted in speaking to a Employee in the USA who was clearly well aware of the problems I was having
I honestly love my iPhone I would contemplate on using it now as a main phone till my warranty ran out mid way through 2014
I cannot vouch for apple enough for a phone which I greatfully enjoy on every accord

Apparently the next iPhone whatever model it may be is to feature 2 coloured LED flash
http://blog.gsmarena.com/next-iphone-to-have-dual-led-dual-color-flash/
Something to do with white balance. Now now Samsung don't make a different coloured LED flash or you'll be sued. Now if Apple claim a patent on dual LED light colours I'll be laughing my head off next to my LED Christmas tree lights

First One was due to my own responsiblity not taking note of the phone itself where it had been placed!
Second Dead Pixel (Wish I just lived with it)
Third has No Wi-Fi (On-Going issue this in iOS 6 and 6.0.1)
so the Forth one will be here this week

@ whentheleveebreaks - i can believe you also. Ive not once picked up an iPhone and thought hmm cheap
Mind you ive never really had a phone go wrong on me so ive been rather lucky. The only trouble ive had is due to wear and tear or me dropping the phones. My N95 was by far the worst, i dropped it so many times half the buttons stopped working.
@ Bonovox - its way way way too early to discuss the next iPhone imo. This is all just nonesense till spring next year at the earliest.

If its not xenon.. I doubt it will make that much of a difference, but considering how bad the flash is now.. it can't get any worse really. |

cu015170, Xenon Flash is done! I've not seen any smartphone manufacturer announce a phone/ship a phone using it since the SE 905 (??); shame on me for having the model wrong.
MissUK, Tell the Apple store that you've been through too many IP4S ... its time to ugprade to the IP5; scuffgate, overrated (I have a black/slate IP5 just to test this, and the white/silver IP5 and neither suffer from it where a simple few wipes of your finger cannot clear up. Using a key well duh its aluminum, a soft metal that will dent very easily but it holds rigidity and saves on weight. The main focus for Apple using it so heavily in their products goes back to Tim Cooks former and still master skills: Supply Chain. IF your damaged/returned products can be easily recyled by 40-60% back into raw material for new production then that's a HUGE savings!! Recycling).
Etaab,
I'm considering the Nexus 4/Optimus G but I'm just on reservations - I hate cluttered homescreens; even with the IP5 with so many icons I'm bothered. What I cannot stand the most is Ringtones (I'm NEVER paying for that crap!), and Themes ... I want a fresh look on my smartphone - without it becoming buggy. Android has some really sweet clean themes but its a pain to understand how to download and install them - PlayStore makes them an app and really shouldn't be in my mind.
Unless iOS has a major overhall on the next version I think we'll see a steep decline in their sales next year; considering both LG and soon others are beginning to use quality materials. We spend $$$ of dollars on a retail device; 6mths later we still enjoy using the OS/Apps/Web/etc yet we'd all hate to pick it up during that time frame and feel like its worth $100 or less.
