hmm very disappointed it will be an april release march was late enough. beginning to think there may be further set backs and might not come out till mid-year, which by then would be heavily out-dated tech.

See the "Sony Ericsson continues to struggle" section, it mentions about the rumor that SE will sell the brand and leave the market.
Where from this rumor come?

its not a rumor
its a forecast by eldar
and actually he has some pretty good points and probably the best inside look from all of us
se is struggling since several years now, they just don't seem to get it right
in the meantime motorola also struggled, but they resurrected and are in a good shape now
se didn't had a major (successful) release since 2007

Very interested in the new trademarked names and glad to see the naming convention changed to something more in keeping with current trends.

Xperia Duo - dual speakers, dual camera (3D video recording), dual core? dual screen? Who knows at this stage although it must indicate two of something.

Neo - normally indicates something 'new'. New OS perhaps? WP7?

Also, Arc conjurs up to me reminds me of the Arc sliding keyboard of the Xperia X1.

I've updated the first post with the new info. Roll on MWC.

Can't we just be positive about SE. SE is just in the proccess of recovering and I don't understand why Eldar has to be so harshed with Sony Ericsson. I really disagree on the part that the quality suffers. SE's 2010 line-up is great except for the outdated OS. Compared to the 2008 and 2009 models, the built-quality has been improved as well as the software. I don't really agree with Eldar. A small market share isn't bad at all just look at HTC but I couldn't agree more that Yendo is a crappy phone.

I remember when yendo first came out, Eldar slashed at being a worthless sagem phone. Now that its been delayed, it would have made huge sales. Awesome.

wow, the article by eldar was hilarious. Is it just me or was that not even worth looking at? I mean, c'mon, that was only yendo. yes, it was a disappointment, and yes they lost money with that. but that was just one model and that was a low end one. to say that SE is going down is ridiculous. he must have forgot the sales of the x10, x10 mini and m. pro, elm, hazel, vivaz, and vivaz pro. yes, SE is not all sunshine but they're doing better, though I'm expecting the 4Q sales to be somewhat worse. SE is doing better now and that's a fact. hardware wise? they've been doing awesome as well. I won't even take eldar's article seriously. just my 2 cents though.

What I don`t like at Eldar reviews is it`s subjective opinion wrote as facts or proper data.
For example X10 review was filed with minuses for design, parts ect. with which I personally strongly disagree... I found My X10 with greater build quality and materials, also with excellent design. The screen may be week on paper compared to the opposition but in real life the picture quality and viewing angles is better then most amoled screens used by HTC products... so, what worth having an amoled when I see better on my old-fashion TFT screen?! This tendency goes even further with negative opinion for Timescape and Mediascape, which I love... ect., ect.
I understand Eldar in his disappointment on from being the most innovative and brave manufacturer on the market at days of P800, P900 and bestseller phones like T68, T610 and k700 to nowadays where I found constantly outsmarted and bettered by its competition. I`ll kindda like becoming more old Ericsson type of manufacturer with innovations like Bluetooth, EasyShare and stuff like that which make me such a fan that I stayed loyal till today... but I have to admit disappionted me either in the last couple of years with products with great potential that never being exploited... still I own X10, X1, Vivaz and couple of old phones with sentimental value, but I look around and maybe soon I`ll change my mind and go for HTC or else.
I still have faith in but I agree with Eldar, they have to change their approach if they want to stay alive. We, loyal customers will go for even if their products are slightly behind, but if they still lagging behind a lot like X10 running 1.6 when more then 50% of the competition runs 2.2 version of Andriod isn`t acceptable if you want to be considered as serious competitor.
I will watch for in Q1 2011 and will decide whatever I stay on board or go for something else. I hope they will surprise me with something, and I`m not talking about Z1, because for me mobile gaming isn`t any interest, but if decide to release phones with latest version of OS, speeding their development and implement proper hardware I`ll stay on board and will become the old me - the greatest ambassador of around, which made more than 50% of my fellas to change their mind and go for . Isn`t it that what you looking for ? Please, don`t disappoint us, your true lovers and loyal followers `cause we still are your greatest capital.

PS: Damn, I write here once in two years but what a post, ha?!

nothing will be coming out in Q1. Q2 is when they'll be releasing. i worry for , how far will tech have advanced by then? rumour has it the LG optimus dual core phone will be coming out by march. what else will be coming out from HTC, Samsung, Motorola?

is looking at an april release, imo it seems too late for the tech that they are going to be bringing out.

i see. still i worry, the processor and screen will have to really something special to compete with other manufacturers and what they'll be bringing out at that same time.

I dont understand this dissing of Eldar that has been going on for years. Or rather for years now Eldar has written about Sony/// that they are going downhill and for years he has been dam right.
The next logical step for them naturally is to sell their brand.
Something´s big gotta happen for them and better very soon. And of course having their next release in april(!!!), when all other major companies are churning out new devices doesnt help.
He´s not spreading pleasant things about our beloved company but unfortunately he hasnt be proven wrong on his basic predictions!

i do browse on sites like digitimes and evertiq.com frequently and it was known for a long long time via such source Arima was the ODM behind this but Eldar statement seem to be saying Sagem.... Arima was around as SE ODM before Sagem come to picture...I remember they stated the business since Ericsson via A10xx? forgotten actual model number

unless Arima is using Sagem's mobile platform...else I say Eldar is know nuts on how people manufacture phone.
