This is very strange. I just tried the video player again and now everything is working fine. I don't think I'm going insane but you never know
It definitely exhibited the problem I described in my previous post, directly after the update on Tuesday, and I rebooted the phone several times to see if the problem would go away and it didn't. But magically it now seems to have fixed itself! Maybe the problem only appears if you use the video player while some other program is active (Opera for example) I need to do some more investigation.

is your current theme one of the preinstalled ones?
Well, what happened with mine was .... I did not have that problem after the firmware update until I installed a theme. The problem went away as soon as I switched back to the default one.

That's interesting, I was messing about with themes on Tuesday so that could be it as I am using one of the inbuilt themes right now. However ares is not using the default and it's working for him/her (sorry ames don't know if you're a he or a she) so it could be some strange interaction if you have a theme that is not built quite correctly and appears to work for most things but causes problems in some areas. It could be that the font/colour or something else defined in the theme that is used by the volume dialog causes some problem.

@fixfox, no, iīm using a theme that i installed after update (vista 1.3 from se-uiq.com)
also, this is the first time i hear that reported from someone that upgraded, here or at my-symbian, so i say you guys must have corrupt data...did you make a master reset or format internal drive after update??? Thatīs something advisable

@ares
that's strange .... it's that very theme I had problems with.
@digithed
I also suspect it to be theme related.

whats new no that? why you call it a problem?

Because it stops playing whatever music you're listening to.
At the moment, you can have Media Player open, switch to a different app, e.g. Messaging, and then switch back to Media Player, and it stops playing and starts searching for music files again! It never did that before.
It should only search for files the first time you load Media Player - not when it's already open and you're simply switching between applications. |

but why do you have to search when you are listening to music??? thatīs the question...i do a search when needed, and before starting to listen to music or podcasts...

You didn't read my original post. You have no choice - the search happens automatically each time to switch back to Media Player, even when it's already playing a song - that's what's so annoying! |

@digithed , @ares
Tell you what...
I'll do a full backup first, master reset, then install just that theme and try to reproduce the problem.
If you are right (ares), the problem should only reappear when I restore my data
I'll let you know

Attached my phone via usb (dcu60) after a restart and ofcourse I connect to the phone after connected to the pc while pressing c button... windowz asked me for drivers and I located the flash drivers directory but it doesn't work anyway... what should I do? |

And is it my imagination or did the LED on the P910i blink blue during Bluetooth use? It doesn't do this on the P990i.
|
|
It's not your imagination....the blue Bluetooth LED on the P910 does in fact blink when it is activated.
|
|
However, i would very much prefer if we had the blinking green light again signifying coverage. It also indicated to me that the phone was operating and idling fine.
