@CrimInalA

If the all P990s are not working (your description 'crap') then return them.

I've noticed something strange. I'm not sure if I had this problem before I upgraded the firmware. When using WLAN, the amount of data sent and received is not logged in "connection manager". That is, it starts registering traffic, but then it stops usually after a few Kb. Connection time and status (inactive/active) is displayed correctly. Data traffic through GPRS/3G is logged correctly as far I can see.

Can anyone else confirm this?

@ JAH : Crap means crashing , buggy not working good enough for an all days phone .
The users I gave this phone to all want their old phones back anyway .

I cannot keep these phones here and hope for SE to release the new firmwares for us . might as well be 2007 till we see the light .
So yes, returning is my only option .

Yes - I can confirm.
I can also confirm that the WLAN does not work well at all.

Manage to get connection - usually one page with data comes through to the browser - but then it's game over. Clicking on links or trying to open new addresses does nothing at all. The same pages and addresses works just fine via WAP...

Well, actually WLAN itself works pretty well at least here at my home. Im talking about the log in "connection manager".

This is my firmware, got the phone yesterday:

Phone: R4B001
Bluetooth: R4F01
Organizer: R2A04
CDA: R2A07

It is from ISP "A1" in Austria. When I try to update, SEUS says "update not possible, phone has already latest software level". Why does it not load the latest software on my p990?

@Dr.Sommer

there appear to be 2 SIM free versions of the firmware from the posts here - one called World version and the other called European xxxx. If you have the latter then you firmware porbably is the latest. If you have a network branded firmware you'll need to wait till the network releases an update. Please give use the full CDA version so that other members with a similar version can advise you.

Re: FM Radio performance

With the latest firmware, the FM radio performs better for me. With the previous version I found if I used the FM radio sometimes it would cause problems with the T-mobile signal reception after I turned off the FM radio. Latest version not only fixes this problem but seems to have improved performance as well. To be honest the P990's FM radio is better than any other FM radio I own!

Hello Jah!

Thanks, great reply.
What You're saying is:
-There are two sim free versions (world and europe)
-There are sim locked versions, distunguished by the CXC....... numbers

My phone is definitly sim locked, but has no branding sounds, pictures, animations etc.
Just predefined Data accounts which don't disappear after an all reset. Could be a ISP specific version though?

My full version is:

Telefon: CXC 162037 R4B001
Bluetooth: CXC 162058 R4F01
Organizer: CXC 162036 R2A04
CDA: CDA 162008/3 R1A07

Arghhh Agile Messenger still not working with the new firmware, what a load of crap tbh...quite annoying to be honest. Oh well just have to wait till the Agile messenger coders put out a new release that hopefully works with the p990i.

I dont know if its a bug or its the way it is but i find alot of my rss feeds especially the new ones...dont seem to download the full text...always seems to miss out a few lines at the end. Again annoying especially on the BBC news feeds that i get.

I dont know if this was posted before, but the SEUS is now on the P990i section on their site... ie: The compatible phone list on the SE site has p990i listed now!

Noticed that after a few reboots the "delete" menu still have problems showing when the messages app is started in FC mode.

But - with earlier firmware this was a constant issue, now it's random.

I've noticed this before the latest firmware update as well so the bug is nothing new.
