oh I will when I find another bluetooth device to use with it, hell even office depot doesn't have a pda with bluetooth. If they did it would be on display and I could play with it. |

After R5D007ie & BT Fail on being Discover,
I tried R3C001-Att today...
Bad.... Yes Bad....
-- BT Still Don't work
-- ISP's Email Send & Receive not work, Work with R5D007ie before.
-- Menu speed is slower than R5D007ie
-- Big Problem! My Own Rogers "Data Comm." setting is gone after Power off
-- ATT US "Data Comm" setting come back like ghost after Power circle...!
-- Tx/Rx is better on R5D (my feeling)
-- No Decrease Batt. Problem
Hope better luck next time....
Hope someone can find out the BT solution....

glad that it worked out fine. as you know i also have a t68m with the same hardware and specs as yours. i will be doing the flash as soon as i receive my service cable. a friend of mines has also done the upgrade and did not lose his bluetooth (t68m, r4c, r32b013 to r5d007 eu) but lost a little standby/talk time. hope mines goes as well !
i also got a black faceplate off eBay (most likely same seller)..it looks great ! |

You must have gotten your phone from t-mobile too, I'm getting great standby/take times. Plus Rx/Tx is much better, I accually get 3 bars in places where I normal have 1 or no service at all (like in my house). Just gotta set up my CSD data now, can't find any info on it. I'm going to go to town in a little bit and check with some computer stores to see if they have any bluetooth devices so I can check it out. I'll post a picture in a little bit too. |

I believe that standby times might be "reduced" because it's calculating remaining battery capacity better in regards to backlight, bluetooth, ir, and general usage.

Based on what you're saying, and even if the new firmware is reporting a more accurate reading of battery state due to drainage..is it not true that SonyEricsson has reported on their website (under specs for the T68) a much, much longer standby time than 50hrs? I did not have this problem (bt or battery) with a T68i having the R6A hardware revision, I only had the battery loss on a T68m. I believe, and have posted this here before, that just flashing "any" T68 m or i with any version of "firmware" is just plain "risky". I also firmly believe that certain firmware revisions will only work "completely" with certain hardware versions. We must treat the T68m and the T68i as if they were completely different model phones, with their own firmware revision schemes. What we need to find now are phones in each category (hardware versions and factory installed firmware) and allow users to see that the each version of firmware will only work properly with certain m or i phones up to certain hardware versions. So far, my T68i, hardware version R6A with installed firmware R3B, was flashed to R5D007EU and "everything" confirmed working. I had no noticeable loss in battery times, and bluetooth is functioning properly. I used my computer and T68i to access the net fine, up to a certain point. I am still having the same problem as I did before the flash. As an aside, anyone here knows how to "actually" get computer and internet explorer to load pages from the web? It logged in fine, said I was connected at 114.7kbps, but when I type, say, www.yahoo.com, it comes back and says it cannot load the file. Sorry to go on a tangent. Anyways, hope this helps. |

That's right..got my phone from T-Mobile. I live in NYC and get the best reception. I live in an old brownstone with solid walls and still manage to get 2 bars compared to 0 with my old motorola p280 (which was also a good phone). Still have'nt received my service cable so..gotta wait another day or two before upgrading. |

So has anyone heard ANYTHING on fixing our bluetooth for those that flashed? I'm surprised we haven't heard anything from the author of ericsclient.... I can live without being discoverable for now, but eventually would like a fix. I'll probably have a new phone by then, LOL!!!!!
Eric
PS I have a AT&T t68i with R6a HW. Originally had R3B and I flashed to R5C and lost bluetooth discoverability. Everything else including the battery life is fine.

ethune, I have the exact same hardware and firmware revision as you before I flashed and I have had no problems with the phone since. (See my previous post to this one.) Which version of R5D007 did you use? I used the EU version. And when you say "discoverabilty" is gone, what does that mean exactly. Which bluetooth are you using on your computer? Once you did your flash, did you just go back into the computer and use the T68i icon in your bluetooth items that was there before you flashed? Try deleting or removing the old one completely and then starting over. I had to do this as well. As a rule of thumb, one should always delete any older "established" connections after having changed as much as firmware or hardware. Give it a shot!! Good luck! |

I flashed with R5C, not R5D, which I believe is the root of the problem. I did try deleting all of the existing profiles from my bluetooth connection on my laptop (using a usb bt dongle) and it could not discover the phone....

av0135,
I was referring to the "slightly" shortened standy and talk times that R5D007 shows.
* If anyone out there needs logs, I can usually get them out to you within a couple of hours (in minutes, if you can catch me online via instant messenger).

I've updated the table
http://www.pocketbuddy.com/gdaswani/BT-Failures.html
DJ Teknosys and ATkiceman (using Unlocker 6.52) and the R5D007 EU (firmware from Sevenfire)
AT&T T68i's R6B -> updated to R5D007 EU and they state bluetooth is working just fine (can be discovered and DJ actually sent some files from the PC to the phone)..
Client used was LVWireless 6.52 unlocker.
this is getting weird.. |

Oh here is something else I've noticed after the flash, my phone used to say voicestream at the top, now it says t-mobile. On top of that I have an old voicestream 32k sim, so default you would think would be voicestream, on my old nokia 8290 it said powertel. I figured that part would be on the sim but I guess I'm wrong? Oh it still said voicestream after unlocking it and before flashing if that tells you anything. One more thing I have experienced a couple of reboots with the phone. Nothing my 8290 didn't do, only it was like an every hour thing with it. |
