Thanks for that Ashbury.

I've downloaded wotan and am going to try it out in a minute.

Will it re-install the sotware with Orange software as I had before, or a generic version.

Also, will trying to rescue my phone with this program invalidate my warranty?

Oh well, I can't get Wotan to work...

On my PC laptop, it won't recognise my phone. I think there's a problem with the Flash Drivers I installed, as, when I plug in the phone, holding down 'C', the PC tells me there is a problem with this USB device and that it's not recognised by Windozzze. Nothing I do seems to be able to reinstall the Flash Driver so the PC will see it.

On my Mac, running Virtual PC (which I used SEUS on), the Wotan Client won't run and just reports an error.

Looks like I'm stuck with a dead phone then and will have to get Orange to fix it!

I have an issue with my phone rearranging appoinments that are set in the calendar. I've noticed that if something may have been scheduled for say Monday at 9:00am I might find it moved to a totally different day on a different month and with the new time now always saying ALL DAY.

My phone is software version CX1250316, firmware R4CK003 purchased directly from SE via the internet in the US.

Well i tried to update on the SEUS it picked up my phone ok and said "updating software do not touch the phone", when the green bars had gone all the way to the end, it just stuck like that for about half an hour. In the end I just disconnected the phone.

It doesn't seem to have suffered any ill affects and seems to be showing latest firmware (R4DB005). I have checked and don't have the contact picture bug or the led light bug. A bit slow getting into view pictures in the gallery, but otherwise no problems.

There is only a very slight hissing noise, but I can't hear it when music is playing. It's more noticable when I press stop and then come out of the Walkman player completely and it turns off. I also get the occasionally popping noise when changing tracks sometimes it has been really loud, like a static noise coming through the headset.

Had similar issues with my K750i/W800i.

Otherwise I really love my W810i!

Sooooo...... having totally killed my phone with SEUS last night, I had to take it into a service centre today to see if it could be rescued, which it was, thankfully.

The service guy told me though that he had to basically rebuild the entire workings of the phone as it was so badly corrupted, so I've just spent a while restoring all my settings and phonebook.

On the bright side though, the contact-pic bug has now gone!

Be careful with SEUS is all I can say!

Yes, it worked fine for me, and then I tried doing it again as someone said that doing it 4 or 5 times would clear the contact-pic bug, and updating worked fine again (although it didn't clear the bug).

When I tried it again, though, something went wrong and it destroyed the software/firmware of the phone, causing it to be completely reinstalled and rebuilt at the service centre yesterday!

since i've got my w810 it was just a nightmare with the hissing, it just drives you mad! Finaly did an update, now my phone is only in english, wich sucks becouse I live in the netherlands...
And the hissing bug is still there. And i dont have flash themes. So I only can do 1 thing, go to a update point and update it there. its only 100 km from here so that sucks too! Thats why i'm NEVER going to use SEUS anymore.

Were any of the K750 bugs such as the hissing bugs replicated in the W810?

I don't notice hissing in mine either. But it could be the eletctronic, trance type music I've always got going makes it a little less apparent.

Also my $20 Koss-Sparkplug earbuds probably aren't near audiophile quality either.
