Suggestion for communication error problem:
Change the regional settings to English from Control Panel and try again. This solved the problem in Turkey (at least)

yes the joystick has 8 directions in R1N firmware. It's usually giving problem in downward direction when held in left hand specially.
True love is a rare find so don't let it go once you get it by luck. |

Finally i've done it, i have the R1N035.
To update, like somepeople says it before and may be it helps.(Thanks them for those tips)
- Turn the phone to english language
- Do a reset, don't need to do the big one, just the little reset
- Don't update with the MScard in the phone.
I've done like this, it worked, i don't know if it helped, or may be the file have an update, see this.
The update slow down at 43% then seems to stop at 53% and finally take a big speed to 100%
HL1_125952-EU1-MR2_000000_0000_R1N035
HL1_125953-FR1-MR2-B_000000_0000_R1N035
There's a letter B in the name of the second file, B for bugfix ?
I don't know if this file had the same name before my last update that have sucked at 50%.
So, am i happy ?
Don't know yet, i'm gonna see tomorrow.

While installing the "K750 Update USB driver" the Windows says that
this driver may not be apropriate for your device.
I have Windows 2000.
Can this be the problem that is causing failure of my firmware upgrade ("error communicating with the device" message at 53%)?

I got "HL1_125953-EMEA6-MR2-B_000000_0000_R1N035" (with letter B) from Global section on 3rd Oct.
and "HL1_125953-FR1-MR2-B_000000_0000_R1N035" (with letter B) from "Hong Kong" region on 7th Oct.
But i still not achieved success

@manish
This is from the se update driver page
Sony Ericsson D750/K750/W800 Update Service USB driver
Download and install the Update Service USB driver and you'll be able to use Update Service to update your phone's software via the USB cable.
D750_K750_W800_Update_Service_USB_driver.zip
File size 0.009 Mb
Download time approx. 1 minutes or less on your current connection.
Compressed Archive File (ZIP)
License Free
For system Windows 2000; Windows XP
Compatible with K750i; K750c; D750i; W800i
So the driver should be compatible with win 2000, the message you are getting is probably that the driver is not digitaly signed by microsoft.

Additional Notes: ERROR - java.lang.NullPointerException
|
|
You get the null pointer exception with the latest version of java which is 1.5.xx.
SE Update does not seem to be compatible with the latest version of java.
You have to uninstall it and install a version starting with 1.4.xx.
Go to
http://java.sun.com/products/archive/j2se/1.4.2_08/index.html
and download J2RE which is the v. 1.4.2_08 version of java.
Then you won't get this exception error.

@Ozzy
I uninstalled JRE 1.5 and installed 1.4. Then i reinstalled SEUS 1.19 but still the log file shows following exceptions:
---
Modify Text File - Single File: New File C:hf.path
Status: ERROR
Additional Notes: ERROR - java.lang.NullPointerException
Modify Text File - Single File: New File C:Program FilesSony EricssonUpdate Service/Sony Ericsson Update Service v1.19.tmp
Status: ERROR
Additional Notes: ERROR - java.lang.NullPointerException
---
The above two files were infact created.
The .tmp file have:
---

Do not edit or remove this file! It is used in version handling and if faulty you must reinstall the application.
---
and hf.path have
---
C:Program FilesSony EricssonUpdate Service
DO NOT EDIT - Update Service will NOT work if faulty!!
---
Are these file ok or do i need to add some information into these files!!!
