Edit: Oops sorry i meant smokers

you remind me of some loser that would walk into a smoking area just to wave your hand about and make a point and make some pathetic comment before walking out again. sad, very sad.

I tried to avoid smokersd as much as I can. However, when I am forced to be around them, let's just say I'm not the same person I was 5 minutes ago. [addsig]

WARNING:

this thread is about discussing the smoking ban and smoking in general...

...its NOT about making personal and insulting comments to other members because of their choice to smoke (or not)

What are you trying to do, encourage smoking.
Yes smoking under 16 IS legal, but DON'T ENCOURAGE IT! [addsig]

Alexandra IMPO i think your going a bit too far with all these rants. If you dont like smoke or smoking stay out of this thread. You've turned a casual thread for people who choose to smoke into a Flaming war and basically your just pissing everybody off with your stupid comments and childish behavoir.

I have been a member here since i was 13 and fair enough the forum doesn't have an age limit but a certain standard of general Mature bahavior should be shown. We have the Garbage threads were you can go talk about Flange if you want all day and have a bit of a laugh, but at the end of the day this is a smokers thread for smokers......

I wouldn't go into the Pub and tell everyone how bad drinking is for your body etc people know this stuff its there choice to do what they want.

Thanks for reading.

But Danny, drinking does not affect everyone around you. Everyone says 'oh why dont you say junk food is bad?' The reason is that no-one dies from passive Maccas! [addsig]

Drinking can lead to liver disease and so on, which requires resources to treat, which, in the UK at least, means that taxpayers have to fund such treatment whether they drink or not. Also those who are drunk may cause accidents whether through driving or oprating heavy machinery, etc, which may put other people at risk. Someone who makes themselves ill through drinking (or eating fatty foods or whatever else) may also affect the mental health of those around them if they cause others to worry.

The bottom line is that just about everything we do has some affect on other people. Personally I do my best not to impose my smoking on other people and most smokers are probably considerate enough to respect other people.

I enjoy smoking (I'm smoking as I type this in fact) and I shall jolly well continue smoking. I smoke in the privacy of my own home and where it is acceptable to smoke in public and anyone who tries to infringe on my right to do what I want with my own body can have their heels damned to Putney.

Some people seem intent on telling everyone else how to run their lives and what they should and should not do. It's high time we stood up and told such people to bugger off.

Just out of interest, how much do you (all) smoke a day? I tend to smoke 5-10 a day (depending on how busy work is) but a night out it can double.

Would you say 10 a day is excessive?
