I notice that the image becomes blurry the farther it gets Compare the sharpness of the (hand) railing (below left) to that of the small cart on the right side inside the store . . . [addsig]

@max - I feel like I'm in a battle of the bands, getting a roaring round of applause after each number... from each and every one of my relatives for whom I bought tickets! I'm especially inclined to laugh at the "expert" part. But I'm touched, bud, this is the brotherhood I was talking about a few pages back.

@jojo -- I can perfectly understand what you mean when you say you don't have an idea about what pictorial quality means. There are so many levels of appreciation, depending on the viewer. Some of those levels are even conflicting.

The K700i's VGA camera can't be expected to reproduce far objects with clarity. For such precision a dedicated camera with a proper lens is needed.

@chili - Yeah. Sorry about that as I was used in capturing images from my K750i back then . . . same with my Digicam. You take good pics dude, have you altered your K700i in some way? Or have used a special software for that? If ever that will GO on for sale here at Esato one day, I am very certain that many members (foreign included) will BID for it [addsig]

@jojo - No mechanical alterations whatsoever -- My K700i's no different from anybody else's. And up until yesterday, I had been using camera version 3.9 (fw v. R2L001).

I had to have my K700i reflashed yesterday at SESS Glorietta, to bring it back to life. Now I've got the latest fw -- R2CA001 -- and with it camera v. 3.10. About the only good thing that came of it, camera-wise, was spotting the elderly man whose pic I posted yesterday.

(R2CA001, btw, has lovely fonts for Java apps. Now it's much nicer to read via TequilaCat Bookreader! Overall menu navigation has sped up, and file transfer via DSS-xx has improved by about 1kbps. I'll buy myself a BT dongle now he heh...)

There's the occasional Neat Image, but with b&w photos, there's hardly any need for that. I like b&w noise.

A major weakness of the K700i cam is unnatural color reproduction. But if you know how colors harmonize and clash, in terms of proportion and shading, it will hardly be noticed. Look at my "purple dunkin, purple umbrella" pic a few pages back. The colors are garish, there is noise everywhere, and you can't read ANY of the signages due to overexposure. But it comes across as coherent, and the faults are overridden somehow.

@chili - Very well said. It's just so unfortunate that I am not in the HABIT of upgrading my fone's firmware dude I just leave them as it is . . . up to the time the handset is SOLD. Nice pic, the manager is the cashier too

@dj - Nice pics!

I went to Rockwell Powerplant Mall yesterday and took the image of this GIANT wreath (christmas decor) . . .

@all - When I 'changed' the settings (as suggested by Blackspot) of the picture quality (camera) from NORMAL to FINE . . . I made notice that I am having some difficulty emitting images with large files (100 KB or more) to my email addy This never happened before when picture quality settings was still at - NORMAL. I know too that if the file was too large to be sent, the fone adjusts it (size) AUTOMATICALLY What gives here mates I still have about 9 MB left in the fone's memory. Thanks!

Some aerial shot . . . from the 4th level of the mall down to the ground floor . . . peeps looks like rats (size) from atop

@jojo, have you tried sending yourself one of the resized pictures and the checking it against the original to see what actual difference this makes ?

@marlon - NOT yet mate .. . but I guess it will not do much difference. This only happened when I opted to change the picture settings to FINE I'll try using the MEDIUM size picture setting, but still under FINE settings. Maybe the image will be sent thru . . . Though what I am puzzled at is that out of the 12 images I tried sending to my email addy, only 5 went thru

Looks like you are a NATURE guy here pal. Nice pool ! [addsig]

@jojo, nature guy well yes I suppose I am a little. I like to capture the moment when something catches my eye. Thats the beauty of a camera phone

If your taking pitures specifically for email mate then perhaps try reducing your settings a little, however, for posting on here and keeping for posterity I would be inclined to stick with the fine 640x480 settings mate

A few minutes drive from my town, long walks, nobody around (usually)...bliss !

my daughter asked me to take this one

@Jojo - Were you trying to email the pics via MMS or via K700i's built-in email client?

In either of those two methods, you have to minimize the file size. Give up quality and picture size in order to make sure that the pic reaches the intended email address:
• USE "Normal" picture quality
• DON'T USE night mode
• If you want to send multiple files in one go, use pic sizes smaller than 640 x 480.

K700i's MMS has a file size limit of 100kb. I don't use the built-in email client for sending pics so I'm not sure if it resizes files. (I very much doubt it.)

If you want maximum pic size and quality, just send the pics to the PC via BT, IR, or DSS-xx. This is more economical too. Send files via MMS/email client ONLY if you don't have immediate access to a PC.

@chili - Thanks so much for that matey! Looks like everything went berserk when I changed the quality picture settings from - normal to 'FINE' I am just using the notwork's MMS configured settings in my fone dude, I have never used the fone's EMAIL settings as it looks too expensive to have it activated, or additional charges will be incurred My style is I send it via MMS to my email addy, save the pic to my PC's HD then upload it here at Esato I guess I'll just put back my old picture quality settings to NORMAL, so my sending will not be interrupted everytime. I am having troubles sending it via BT from my fone to PC, but the other way around works just . . . FINE . I always use the LARGE image (captured by the cam) settings. This happened only now after having my FOURTH K700i in 4 different occasions too Thanks again! [addsig]
