the problem is that if i give the phone away they will take it for a minimum of 20 days (30 max) and the person have told me that it could take longer... I'm really disappointed with sony support my friend has iphone 5, after one year, he had a problem with the power button, and he went to the store and they have changed it to a new one, at the moment.

with sony you have to wait 30 days to get your phone back just wow!

It pains me say but that's my experience too with the Sony support in the UK. Had to return my Xperia Z which was kept for 2-3 weeks before being returned with another, unrelated, fault - quite how it passed QA I'll never know and I was constantly battling with them to just replace the hanset as they had left me without one for 5 weeks in total. they eventually replaced it with a new unit, however, it has forever tainted my view on Sony's support. It's awful in the Mobile side and just as bad in the Sony Entertainment Network side too, though, don't get me started on that one!

I must also add, my Z1 also had a dead pixel and I had to get that exchanged, however, I took that back to the retailer and got a refund and re-ordered elsewhere.

Wow, with the new firmware, there's more detail retention and the color temperature seems warmer.

i got the phone for more than 10 days now (i had just 8 days to exchange the phone) so i don't know if they will change it for me now. the dead pixel, is actually 4 or 5 pixels combined to form the black dot.

Wow. the new camera update seems great! I'm just curious if the photos were taken with tripod as the slight blur could be a result of slight camera shake maybe? I intend to use a tripod to take photos to compare. can't wait. Since they just certified another firmware update with slight bug fixes, i'm guessing i'll be getting that one once it's available.

@sponse - i say live with it. 30 days is too long. live with it and convince yourself it's just a piece of dust under the screen protector you're just too damn lazy to get rid of

shi$..

Here in regional service center, people scream and shout badly to representative, worst center and I feel Sony has done nothing,i escalated the case and now the merchant has sent the phone to service, literally crap going on and I am feeling waste on purchasing Sony even though I am die hard Sony Fan.

I feel disappointed buying this, don't know what happens next.

I got an email from sony, they would change it for me, and there is a service that is called totale care, that i will pay 10 dollars and they will come and pick the phone from my house, and then send it, and it will take 14 days or less, they will give me another one.
in the case of the xperia z1 it could be free, i will check next week!

that is the letter that i got from the service center:

"Buonasera,
ci hanno risposto che può essere effettuata la sostituzione nell’ambito della garanzia pertanto può spedirlo.
Un cordiale saluto"

translation:

Sony said that the handset can be replaced withing the period of the warranty, so you can send it to us and we will change it

so maybe next week i will send it, as im going for a trip to rome..
