The picture is a stock Z Ultra but the detail describes what one would expect from a Z2 Ultra.
Nothing spctacular, nothing new.

I think Sony would be bringing now the High Resolution Audio on the front of the next Xperia flagship, beside the Digital Noise Cancelation tech. With this, it will be a merely one step away of having S Master HX amp with DSEE tech.
A revamp with the front facing camera will also be introduced hopefully. Same 20.7 MP with better ISP and the introduction of OSS (Optical Steadyshot) will be also on the forefront (wished Sony would build a mobile phone camera with their amazing Balanced OSS from Handycams).

Just to make it clear that there won't be ZU successor, at least, in the near future.
Instead, there will be a small-sized tablet.

Any idea when this will debut or be unveiled? IFA? or later on? |

New Sony D5833 model spotted on Indonesian Postel site.
likely to be a mid-range device, hopefully a succesor to the SP its model number for the 4G european version was C5303
http://www.xperiablog.net/201[....]esian-postel-site/#more-26336.
would love a spec sheet like this -
4.8" 720p Triluminos IPS display @ 306 PPI
SD 600 CPU @ 1.8GHZ with Adreno 320
1.5 GB of RAM
16GB memory with SD card support
13MP Exmor RS rear camera
2.2MP Exmor RS front camera
Android 4.4 KitKat
2800 MAH battery
Would be great if the signature illumation strip stays and they keep the dimentions smaller than the M2. Would be a great rival to the S5 Mini and the HTC One mini 2.

@XperiaJunkie
New mid range devices are generally not recommended because you can buy last year's flagships for half their price. for example, right now g2 and nexus 5 are really good offers for mid range prices. nexus 5 costs here the same as m2 and for g2 you pay just a little bit more and get a flagship of last year. until next year z1 compact will have a mid range price. tough competition for mid range devices.

Sony doesn't use 1.5 GB RAM, and everything below the flagships only have 1 GB RAM.

Wsih Sony just once use the 20.7 MP sensor on a midrange.

Android L Preview is make me drooling right now
I hope Sony can do something amazing with this release
As they are few last company that still use standard UI design since 2.x day
And YES Android L is 64 bit!!

Damn late for the stream, now they're talking about nerdy things I don't understand while the audience claps sarcastically. Gonna sleep now and wait for the details tomorrow.

If Sony really want to remove that "Sony doesn't update their devices a lot" tag they have, they should update the first Z line to the L Release (Xperia Z, ZR, ZL and Tablet Z).
IMO, in terms of how you interact with your device (not the features themselves, but the interaction UI/user) L Release crushes every single UI out there into tiny little pieces (including Sony's).
I don't get people. Never Have, never will. |
