Yip and it should be HSDPA with 3.6 MB/s coz thats wat we have atm, and the old HSDPA phones still can only run at 1.8MB/s so I hope  goes with the 3.6MB/s with Sofia!

T-Mobile UK are aiming for around 7MB/s before the end of the year, which would be amazing.
However, for some reason I thought the data speed of your device was network dependant as HSDPA uses current 3G infrastructure. Will there be different classes of HSDPA?

Ye we getting 7.2MB later this year and also 7.2Mb upload speeds.
There are different HSDPA classes, eg the Sam ZV50 is 1.8MBs and thats as high as it goes but the N95 and E90 from Nokia are specified at 3.6MB+.
Even data cards will have to be upgraded, a software upgrade doesnt help, its a hardware thing.

Wikipedia informs us that devicees are split into categores with category 1 having a speed of 1.2Mb/s and Category 10 being 14.4Mb/s.
Category 5 and above is at least 3.6Mb/s. Thats what we need

Yip 100%.
Even though 1.8MB/s is sufficient, 3.6 will take Sofia to N95 territory which is supposedly the "benchmark" of mobiles this quarter.
It will/should be
5MP cam
HSDPA 3.6
Wifi
Will give the N95 a run!!

You guys are forgetting GPS! Or do you all think GPS is of no use?
I really hope they bring out built in GPS in Sofia and Elena, and not some external crap that has to be paired using Bluetooth....

You know as helpful as GPS is I still prefer to get lost sometimes 
Besides the Nokio agreement with Garmin is a flop IMO, the E50 has a Nokio made GPS reciever with Garmin maps and it doesnt work well at all!
The lady tells you to turn 20 meters away from the turn, and she only says it once!! You cant change the settings to redirect you, you have to do it manually or follow the map on the little E50 screen.
The N70 ver has a Garmin Made GPS but works in a simalar way. Very irratating at times, esp when you relying on it. You still find yourself stopping at a filling station but this time to readjust your routing.
So far GPS on phones is just a gimmick IMO, they work but not to well, pretty much like how VGA cams were when they came out.
Will be big in the future, but right now Id rather concentrate on the other features.

I wouldn't say GPS is a must-have feature at the moment either. Useful, for some but I could certainly live without it.

I'm with you 786KBR, if made their 5MP a great 5MP and not a rushed one, at the expense of not putting GPS in Sofia I'd be more than happy. |

If you want GPS and are in a car you will most likley have a proper GPS unit and not settle for a mobile version.
Thats just a novelty for a phone imo. |

I agree with the non need for GPS, even wifi not that much for multimedia phone like Sofia, I think WiFi will be must for it if it was symbian.
unless WiFi usability in multimedia phone get wider and better, I mean browsing Internet, browsing your own files in your PC, using a WiFi printer, communicating with other phones too away to use bluetooth for them.

Im glad we all on the same page with GPS, can implement it when its working 100% and the users can trust their life with it.
As for wifi, in todays world wifi is a handy feature, in SA all our malls and office parks are wifi hotspots, and some homes. So its the way to go IMO, in places like the UK theres more wifi hotspots than there is 3G/HSDPA coverage and you guys still have high GPRS data rates, wifi will be a suitable alternative.

In my experience 3G coverage is better than wifi. I have a weak wifi hotspot at home but a medium - strong 3G signal.
The more connection options the better I think. Wifi AND HSDPA would be good.
