Damn Bongzino, what up son? That V800 must've gone through some extreme pain.
We all want to know how it happened?
When I had the V800 I once fell out of a taxi (tripped on speaker wires) and landed with the phone on the road...luckily though it only suffered minor scratches.
@786KBR: I'm still loyal to SE but will not be held to ransom by some inferior phones like the abovementioned which IMO is overpriced for what it delivers.
@All: Check the haters on the P990 discussion...I'm telling you these posters on here are a sensitive bunch...once the phone gets released everyone will be on here telling us how much they love theirs.

@ da brixsta,
You beat me to it,writing the above statement.I think back to when the P910i was launched and the hordes of haters spurning the handset months before the handset was even available, many simply on the grounds that SE had the 'audacity' to use a VGA camera on the flagship phone again and so easily overlooking all the other features.
How shallow.
Of course,it would be great to have a 3mp camera or whatever, but to slate the phone on this alone beckons the question about the lack of lateral-thinking going on in the minds of some of these 'Ubergeeks'...
They really ought to get out more, and maybe get a life while they're out and about as well...
We'll see how many do an 'about-turn' once they own one,as you were referring to...
I,for one,want one.
Hopefully I will have a chance to play and fiddle with a P990 at the smartphone show tomorrow.

@Bong, my sympathies, boet. With any luck it can be repaired....
@Brix & Wanksta, the haters are always going to be around, gents. What sickens me is that they have nothing new to add, same old sad tripe time and time again. What's even sadder is when they start the same old Nokia vs SE crap. Healthy debate is good, but i haven't seen much healthy Nox vs SE vs et al in some time.
Wankster, betcha all revved up, ready to go. Got your *nudge nudge* sick note sorted out?
Brix, mmm, i know what you mean, i've also "tripped" like that before. *hic*
@ Tahir, Vodacom's first with the goodies again! Watch those babies flying off the shelves, guys....

Tahir, my brother from another mother... Will the W800i be branded? The one I played with on the weekend was unbranded and on closer inspection the much maligned orange cover doesn't look too bad.

Went to the main Virgin megastore in central London yesterday, between Oxford Street and Tottenham Court Road.
The store is promoting the RAZR and Nokia 6230 with very attractive prices,on condition that you purchase £60 calltime with the handset:
1. RAZR: £99.99 (R1153!!)@ this afternoon's exchange rate of £1= R11.53
2. 6230: £89.99 (R1038!!)
Not too shabby,hey?
@ Kryptik,
Truth be told, I am developing a bad cold, but I think I will still be going in to work,as I would be missing very important in-service training...BUT I will make it to the show later tomorrow afternoon; I stay close enough to the Excel Exhibition Centre anyway.

@wanqsta: Are those two phones branded? From reading reports on Esato and other sites I've got serious misgivings about the Razr-mostly UI speed and it's 5MB memory.
BTW what's the price of a S700 considering it's successor will be announced soon?

@ da brixsta,
Virgin usually do have some branding, but not as bad as say,Vodafone. My old Sagem myX-5 had a small Virgin Mobile logo at the bottom of the handset, and had Virgin start-up and shut-down stuff.Nothing too major.
Having said that,I did not see any on the 2 demo phones (6230 and RAZR)in the store.
Will try find out tomorrow to be sure re branding on these 2 specific phones.
It'll cost about £10 to unlock them as well.
The S700i is quite scarce around here now. They usually go for around £160 upwards with branding, and a relatively expensive £200 for sim-free.In other words, virtually the same price as the K750!(And more than a D500,or branded 6680,for that matter...)

@ skhuu,
Thanks for that, mhlekazi. Will try upload pics of all the goods and attractions on show ASAP.
I try to regularly update this forum with special offers here in the UK,particularly sim-free and PAYG specials,so that if people know of anyone reliable currently in the UK who could bring a phone at a much better price back into the country, even with the exchange rate, then they should be very up-to-date with what's on offer.

Have a blast at the Show, bhuti. And if by any stroke of luck the P990 is mentioned or displayed (who knows...) do try to determine the screen size vs P910i. Since the issue's been raised in the P990 thread it's been intriguing me...
