I was in cpw this afternoon and someone just bought the last x10 literally a second before I was to get it! they have a good deal on pay as you go - £429 with £10 top-up on Just Talk. I'll be back...
Ah, that sucks!
Glad to hear that they are selling good, though

Would love to know from those including Tejstar who have had access to the MW600 whether the VAD works well?
What does VAD mean ? |

@Arne, sorry it is an acronym that I picked up whilst looking around for the feature I think it's simply Voice Activated Dialling.
I have mentioned it before and hope that the extra Bluetooth functionality that SE had given this phone before Android caught up and the MW600's support for voice dialling should mean that with either this or my in-car HCB-300 I should be able to voice dial with an X10 should I get one..
Thanks for asking and all of the info that you keep finding for us. |

Seriously guys, I'm thinking I will get rid of my beloved p1 and get my hands on this. I just want to know some things before taking the decision:
- Does it have a torch light?
- The current price. With this I don't mean on any plan/contract. It could be in pounds, euros or dollar.
- Silly question but worth a shot: would you recommend me the x10 over the p1?
That's all for now. Thanks.

finally... got my X10 on my birthday (2 of april). The phone is amazing.
- the built quality is good
- the speed is very fast (no lag in timescape and mediascape)
- very responsive
- screen is very very good.
- camera is good... but I think, C905 is faster.
over here I only got leather pouch and screen protector in the box. |

It's a photo light that is manually turned on, so i would guess that means it's "torch" capable.
current ebay price is about $670 USD from a reputable seller. That includes shipping.
I don't even have the x10 and i would say yes! haha.. i'm probably not the best to ask though

@moogoo: when I say torch light I mean like an app for this purpose. I have it on my p1 and was wondering if it has one. K750/W800/W810/G900(which was ported to my p1) have it.
That price is a "bit" high for me as I can't afford such money. I just have $10 in my paypal account. As I am thinking of buying as bday gift or after that I guess it'll be cheaper by the time being. If it hits the US$500.00 mark by june and further months I think I will make a sacrifice. Selling my p1 + some cash I've saved + the one I'm gonna save if I really want it = probably I'll buy it.
Another thing would be buying it on a contract if this means I'll get it a lot cheaper. Who knows. Let's see how things go.
@myp910: congrats and happy birthday. Have you thought of changing your username?

@tranced, that's the problem. I'm stick to this username eventhough I have moved on to P990, X1 and now X10. |

For me that doesn't quite clear it up yet..
At the moment it only handles 65k, but should be capable of 16m.. In the future when 2.x comes to the x10, right?
I can't find it anywhere, but I thought that SE confirmed that.. Somebody?
I've seen the difference between those two, this can't be true..
I did ask specifically in my tweeted question to them what the hardware was capable of (mentioning I know 1.6 is limited). However, I got the following email earlier today:
Thank you for contacting Sony Ericsson Online Support.
In regards to your first question, the Xperia™ X10, X10 mini, X10 mini pro all support 16M colors, hardware wise. Software wise there are limitations from the OS and what the future upgrades will imply on leveraging screen capability is not visible to me at this point. And yes the screen on the X10 is made of mineral glass.

Sounds good. Hopefully whomever sent me this response knows what they're talking about. |

So today i tested out the battery and in this department the X10 deserves a gold star. It all officially started at 10:00am, the first thing i did was turn on WIFI, BLUETOOTH, and GPS even though they weren't gonna be used they still contributed to my test. Also the display was in full brightness set to dim in 15 seconds when not used. I listened to music for about 20 minutes, then watched a show for about 42 minutes, Then i let it play music for about 2 hours while i worked, got 3 phonecalls during that time. Then took a break, and after that i listened to music for about an hour during which time i shot 4 videos and took 4 pictures. About 75% of the day was spent using 3G and Timescape was set to update itself every 15 minutes. At the end of it all the X10 withstood 6 hours of very heavy usage. I left 3G on, but turned off wifi, bluetooth and Gps at 4:20pm when the X10 finally said it only had 10% of its battery left. Timescape updated itself 3 times after that and when i finally got home at 5:15pm the phone still wasn't dead.
Let's be honest here people. NO ONE is gonna use the phone with all the features turned on and no one is gonna leave it playing music on purpose when they're away from the phone for 2 hours like i did which means that the phone should last a whole day on a single charge. The battery exceeded my expectations specially since Android is a well known battery eater.

Great test Bankai.
Try listening to music via a2dp and surfing the web via wireless. this easily overloads most of the phones in the market.
 Forever !!! |
