San GPS is still a joke in India.

no man, ive read bout ppl reporting it to work, with some margin of error. there are atleast 2 companies that provide maps for the major cities n garmin also got their authorized dealers somewhere in india.
im on the lookout for a BT gps receiver, which i can pair up with my laptop or pda something if i ever get one.

@niru, here is the garmin dealer in india, they got all the hardware, software for the gps to work http://www.asplindia.in/

this site got the bt receiver plus maps of indian cities, note that bt receiver is way overpriced on the site http://www.itemsofdesire.com/Store1.html

http://www.satguide.in/ another company selling indian city maps.

chk out ebay.in too for maps and other gps stuff. but yeah i wudnt buy anything other than the maps frm india. other stuff is cheaper in N.america

this looks like a good bt receiver, an alternative to the nokia one http://www.amazon.com/Holux-2[....]ie=UTF8&n=172282&s=electronics
