hey i have a few questions for people who have upgraded to R1Kc001 via wotan...
1. the upper left key next to the earpiece can it be used to scroll images in standby and in the file manager ?? has this been resolved?
** Yes Fixed in R1KC001 **
2. by pressing the '#' key the available writing options didnt have numbers in R1JG001. has that changed in this new f/w?
** This wasnt actualy a fault, If you went into the laguage you will have noticed that ABC and 123 wasnt ticked, if you ticked these items the # button would work, However yes it doesn work in R1KC001 **
i have faced two problems in R1JG001
1. the contact pictures stopped displaying all of a sudden. after setting the picturs to the contacts again the same problem happened. it was resolved only after restarting the phone.
** Yes it seems to be ok **
2.when new messages would arrive mesage alert would ring but no pop-up or activity menu would be displayed. messages had to be opened after going into the inbox. the new message symbol was shown on top of the screen. after restarting the phone it was all right.
** Never had this problem on any firmware, but it works on R1KC001 **
so this new java system dont seem that stable....
** Not had any problems at all with it **
also suppose i send a msg and leave the phone as it is , auto keypad doesnt get locked due to the delivery report/ i have to click ok for the delivery report and only then when the screen is free of any messages the keypad locks. this was present even in R1GB001
** Still present **
Any more let me know.

@maldus
I repost my findings about the two buttons up there. Let's say button A for the one FAR from Video Call camera and button B for the one CLOSER to Video Call camera. It is WotanServer R1KC001 CHINA CL with APAC Customisation.
1. In standby, press A, and it brings you to Landscape picture, correct? Press A again, and it does NOT react. You CAN'T move from one picture to another.
2. In standby, press B. It brings you to highlight the thumbnails. Correct? Then press A. It does the same function as B. You can move from one thumbnail to another thumbnail by both A and B.
3. In standby, now, press B. You see the thumbnail. Press the joystick. It brings you to Landscape picure. Press B. Yes. You CAN move quickly from one Landscape picture to another. Press B again to change picture. It works just OK, right?
Now press A. No, you CANNOT move pictures. How many times you re-press A, you CAN'T see the next picture. The conclusion is, in Landscape picture only B works to see the next picture.
4. Go to File Manager. Press B. Yes, it functions well to highlight from one file/folder to other file/folder, EXCEPT the files in Games and Applications. What about A? No, it CANNOT function as B button.
Hope it helps you.

No SEUS update for me??
Unbranded UK K800i with CDA 102511/2 R4A
SEUS says no update, so I'm still on R1GB001 whereas the first page says latest f/w is Unbranded UK (CDA102511/2) - R1JG001
Anyone else in the same position?

You may have recalled that i mention earlier a problem with transfering calls from 3g to 3g.
I can confirm R1JG001 seems to have a fault with the firmware warm transfering over voice calls from 3g to 2g.
If you make a call using the above software on a 3g network, when the 3g network starts to disapear the phone should warm transfer the call over to the 2g network (As long as there is one) however on the above firmware the call just ends.
R1KC001, the warm trasfer has returned, No loss in call. If you look 3g when you make the call, the call goes back to 2g.
Also CDA/2 R1KC001 (Generic) does have Wap accounts and internet profiles locked via the firmware. This is currenlty being looked at. I will post my findings.
I can confirm that in the the Settings menu, you used to be able to tell the phone how you want to send sms. eg via CSD or GPRS. In R1KC001 the menu has gone. So you dont get the choice.
Any more findings and i will let you know.
** Regarding the SE update on older firmwares, again i have noticed this, currenlty the only way to gt round this is by taking the phone to a service center or updating it you self by means on the internet.
@bronxdude Currenlty there are only minor tweeks and enhancments regarding the firmware as per the my findings.
Other wise i havnt noticed anything major and the walkman player is the same.
*** I can confirm today, If you use date and time on when taking photos, the date and time is now placed in Red on the photo instead of Green.

New bug in R1JG001 with O2 branding. If you look at your balance and you leave it on the screen and a message comes on your phone then it wont tell u it has arrived until u close ur balance |

Hi. I've been watching this thread with interest, waiting for someone to talk about SEUS upgrades for Vodafone UK users. I'm still stuck on the old R1ED001 firmware and SEUS keeps assuring me that this is the latest version.
I wouldn't mind, except that setting default numbers for each contact doesn't work: I can get to the relevant screen where I see the correct number of radio buttons but no text/numbers are visible and selecting any of the radio buttons changes nothing.
And why on earth do Sony Ericsson not put a version history on their website to save me having to go through the rigmarole of trying to upgrade only to be told, after a lot of faffing about, that I already have the latest version?

Anyone having problems uodating UK O2 k800's?
I'm currenctly running on R1ED001 Europe_2
The update service programme says there is an update for me but it'll only get to 98% upload to the phone and stop working with some sort of upload failure... Master reset on K800 not made a difference either!
Any ideas??? |

Try to fully uninstall SEUS from the PC. Install again and rerun the update. Good luck. If necessary, choose other location rather than UK, say USA, and let's see. Good luck. |

Anyone encountered problem for sms after upgraded your firmware to R1JG001?
I experienced 2 problems which I never encountered this before I upgrade to R1JG001..
- duplicated messages saved in Draft. (Need to remove battery and it will back to normal.)
- some of my long messages auto converted the first message in this (...). Especially I have some important messages saved and end up it changed my messages to (...).
Both problems are just happened out of sudden and I cannot always keep track the problem and remove the battery... damn angry with this problem...Is R1KC001 having this problem too? |

Added the 2G-3G call changeover bug discovered by DarrenGF to the first post. It's interesting to note that no SEUS firmware since R1ED001 can be considered to be largely bug free! Mind you, my personal favourite is R1GB001 which is pretty good unless you happen to encode lots of videos for your phone. |
