Can't you get a PTT for your shotgun? I think they're quite lax now. You can even get a PTT for your rifle as long as you're a gun club member.

about two months ago we tried PTT for our 12-guage, from the shooting-ranges of NorthStar (where we're members for now) and much earlier also tried ToughGuys in cubao, no luck. not yet allowed, they said. During the last gun-show we also inquired, and all indicated no luck, not yet allowed. but yes, you may be correct, at around this time they may be lax. tomorrow we'll ask around again.
i'm sure you've been to the BlackRifle forum of GlockTalk... nakaka-inggit, ano? i've had many offers of those babies before. and now, seeing those items they have...makes me think of getting one too.

Yup they're quite hard to find and pricey nowadays. The Bushie's go for about 150 K but the Elisco's can be had for about 25-40 K if you can find one.

i've had blackMarket offers of Eliscos, yes, and they're unbelievably cheap that it makes me suspect a lot of wrong things with it. (as you know of BlackMarket-style sale... no test, just pay up) but speaking of elisco.... are they any good? should i get one, and then just upgrade piece-by-piece like a 1911, para lang mag-karoon na ako (that is- if the parts are compatible)? or is that a bad idea? |

No, its an excellent idea. Elisco receivers are very durable and provides a nice base to assemble the M-16 or M4 of your dreams

Hi guys,
I'm not a gun expert (I don't even own a gun), and I've only fired several rounds from a 22LR Llama and a 45 cal 1911, but I really like to know about guns. What I'm wondering is if any of you have tried shooting a .50 or .44 cal Desert Eagle (wicked gun). I'd love to hear first hand description from you experts on how it feels (weight, recoil, grip, etc.) Also, is this gun sold here?

Hello and welcome bro batangueno:)
Blackspot
I haven't tried Desert Eagles but I hear that they do tame the recoil of the .44 mag due to its gas system. I do have a Ruger Super Blackhawk which is a Single Action Revolver in .44 Mag. The recoil and muzzle blast is awesome. It can be described as a rearward push with the muzzle rising up to almost vertical. Its one of those things that you have to experience to appreciate. I'm sure the recoil of a Desert Eagle is milder. They are available here but the supplies are scarce. Check it out in this November's gun show

@doc
Wow, I'd love that! Is there already a definite schedule and venue for the gun show?

Its supposed to be scheduled November 25-29 still at MegaMall but its not on the tradeshow website http://www.tradeshow.com.ph/html/events.html There's been talk that there will be a change of Venue but I'm not sure. We'll just have to see.

doc, you've seen the MarvelComics' movie PUNISHER? seems Colt contributed some items there.... from 1911 to M4 (you'll even see single-action old cavalry revolver models), they have been prominently shown. |

Yup, IIRC they already released the movie earlier this year and they're re-screening it as it didn't do too good. I love the comic book, I believe that kind of justice is sometimes called for when the authorities can't be relied upon but the movie seems to fall a little short, the guy doesn't look tough enough and its too tame. Nice display of firearms though.

hahah too tame??? i like that comment. well, in the movie, as supposed to be something we let our fantasy be in- yes it is too tame. he should have been meaner. but in real life, if this situation happened to me, i would really play tame and be like a harmless fella, para 'di halata. but beware, your wish is my command...thing's won't really be tame for anyone guilty. (i may not find time to give more pain to my aggressors, like what Castle did, but i'd get them out of this earth fast, hehheh. joke only. oh well...)
yes i agree with you, doc.... sometimes we have to solve a few things for ourselves. (by the way....were you able to catch a view of that stainless slide glock where he even attached a shoulder brace? it was in a fast scene. i thought he was going to use that one. anyway...nice enough movie, huh? maybe in the next movie installment he'll be tougher.) |

doc, did you see the SonnyBelmonte cup shootfest? among all the predictable 1911 types there, SB was the only one using a different pistol. looks like a CZ kind of frame, not a 1911. must be a Sphinx in .45acp. what do you think? it looks cool. naiiba naman. |
