Almost mid march and only design (probably no more than 90% accuracy) is known.
We do not know if phone has:
- 4K screen or 5K
- 8 or 12GB ram
- 256 or 512GB storage
- cam system as 12+12+12 or 50+12+12 or 48+48+48
- 4000, 4500 or 5000mAh
- only sub6 or sub6 + mmWave
😰😰😰
** bonus: on ebay, there is refurbished XZ1 for $125 (seller: digital-home888)

They will definitely announce a 10III and Ace2 soon enough but I doubt they will go to Barcelona empty handed so my prediction is 1III will debut there maybe alongside the preview of 5III. Perfect chance to debut dynamic duo. |

Easto has more issues than all sites combined.
Person on weibo said there is a sensor with this specs and gonna be used for cellphone: 12.3MP 1/1.31" global shutter, 2.74 micron, ability do record 4K DCI 160fps@12bit (of course CPU is gonna limit some stuff).
Most of comments think it is Xperia.

2.74 micron 12.3 mp sensor is 1/1.15" if my calc is right. And global shutter? Not even expensive cameras have that. IF they mean DRAM then maybe.
Have you seen the Huawei renders? Huge cam bump. 1" sensor with liquid lens may be true. If Sony stays at 1/1.7" it'll look like a toy. OP9 also seems like it's attacking pro features of Sony. If there's any plan of Sony making RX100 into a phone, it is now. |

Check her posts.
Global shutter is used for those exmor with Pregius label.
Industry.
Faster than DRAM + ADC, only downside is reduced DR compared to regular sensors.

So many posts. Anyway. Why would you want global shutter in a phone? I get the speed thing but if it's not professional or industrial then it's kinda overkill.
Just watched pro's disassembly. It doesn't have the linear vibration motor. People were complaining about 1&5 vibration but they have that motor.
WHERE ARE XJ, ALVIN AND ESPECIALLY TONY? Did Sony decide to release everything in September? No fun code cracking this year. 😔 |

Global shutter = no banding with artificial lighting, no rolling shutter during videos, zero motion distortion |

They probably could implement it but I don't believe execution will be good enough so that you get all the benefits and no compromises. Rolling shutter artifacts are not that big of a deal on mobile video but I could see Sony trying to push the envelope so just they could say they did it. Even on professional digital video cameras back in the day the only problem I had with rolling shutter was the flickering lights that would be split on the frame but hey even back then there were software solutions to band aid such occurrence. |
