Most of the time I only get two bars on T-Mobile. Another thing I noticed is that the WiFi reception is terrible. I only get two to 3 bars max and the speeds are very slow. My laptop pulled in 148 Mbps my new XZ only 29 Mbps. Hopefully a software update will fix it.

Dacha...Im on TMO as well, Im getting the same as you. Also my Wifi reception is bad as well.
When Im in-call, the bars increase and it seems to work without any cut outs. Ive only placed a few calls, so my sample size isnt large enough yet. Like you said, hopefully the wifi can be fixed. |

I still get 1 or 2 bars 4G reception, but it doesn't seem to affect actual performance at all. My WiFi seems fine. I get full reception throughout my home over 2 floors with top speeds. WiFi is on 5ghz network since I get a lot of interference from neighbors.

My plastic also came off while putting my phone in my pocket so I'm using the ugly screen protector til the full coverage one comes. Initial impressions.. I love it. It's beautiful and so quick and snappy. Love the small convenience features and the fingerprint sensor is crazy fast. Camera is really sharp too. These are some Japanese elm I'm growing from seeds. Taken with superior auto.
by the way.. what's everyone doing to keep the back protected from scratches? i want to keep my phone naked, but i'm afraid this metal back is going to get some scratches pretty easily.. at least hairline ones. can't seem to find kind of protective film made for the back of the xz...

I received my XZ a couple of hours ago. So far I'm loving it. Looks and feels so nice in the hand. I thought the Z5 looked and felt great, but this phone goes to another level and then some. The fingerprint scanner is much more responsive than the Z5 too. So far I'm impressed, even though it is still early days. Oh, and the SwiftKey keyboard that comes pre installed, is a good move by Sony.

@magoo I have kept the protective film on the back on for the time being till I get myself the SCS-F10 case, which hopefully won't be too long now.

Ahh I got my Xperia XZ not the black one as first told.
They only had the Forest Blue colour.
It feels like an Xperia right when I start it with the finish and the touch sound that I so love.
The display has the pleasant warmth to it, like the old Xperia days before the Xperia Z series.

Quad core.
It's not the amount of core that matters, it is how well-built and optimized they are.
Just take Mediatek for instance.
Going from Z5P will be a giant leap for you in terms of more graphic demanding stuff. As for every day tasks, I don't think there will be that much of a difference. Starting up apps faster might be the only thing.

am I the only one here who choose platinum ?
Seems to be thus far. Can you post pictures! I had love for the platinum but sadly I could only afford one.
Tell me what you think about the platinum after having it in person.....
The videos hold no weight after having this thing live. I had the z3 and I loved it, maybe me skipping the Z5 premium has me so much in an awe right now. |

I must say that I am impressed with the battery life of the XZ. This was after the first full charge.

The Octa Core Snapdragon 810 is no comparison to the Quad Core Snapdragon 820, the 820 produces far less heat, throttles less, and has Qualcomm's new custom Kyro cores, while the 810 was a poorly built Octa Core, hence why some Manufacturers never even touched it due to its problems.

@moogoo I've got a soft gel case and it fine, not the best fit quality in the world but it'll do its job until I can get something more suitable.
I'm so happy 'cause today I've found my friends ... They're in my head

Guys, I am having trouble mirroring my phone to both my tv's, one of them a Sony TV from 2014 @ the other being a Panasonic. With my Z5 I had no issues pairing/mirroring content to either TV, but so far I have had no success mirroring phone to Sony TV, but strangely enough I was able to (only once) was I successful with the Panasonic. I have gone through the same process as I had with my Z5, but without much the XZ.
Any suggestions guys?
