Can't wait to see the Z ultra's successor. Just a few more things and it'll be perfect, like a led...
And I can't wait to see Samsung's response to it soon...
I think it's more expensive because it's a niche product?

Away, HTC never! Samsung Note III ofc my next test device, but 5,7" are too small for me now...
So my first impressions from the best SONY Smartphone this year:
The Z Ultra feels really great!! The aluminium frame and the better build quality makes the difference to the Z! It's so flat and sexy!!! Because of the aluminium frame and the good heavy weight it feels very valuable! My MEGA feels now so cheap... The backglass is same like the Z, but the frontglass is imo harder... Overall I'm very satisfied with the quality!
The screen is gorgeous! Z/ZL looks old in comparison, as you have seen already...
But next to my MEGA it's much darker, but still bright enough and of course its crispy sharp!
TRILUMINOS didn't catch me yet... The MEGA has a really nice SC-LCD Panel. Will check tomorrow which one has better colours.
I'm really impressed how good the touchscreen works with a pencil!!! It's perfect for this "print/draw" app. It makes so fun to paint or draw something. You feel like a lil kid. So many nice options! Just amazing!
Also what I have noticed, SONY uses new screen protector foils, finaly my finger can fly over the touchscreen w/o stopps. Now so smooth, feels like gorilla glass touch. Hope it stay so.
What I didn't like so far is the poor loudspeaker at the bottom and the too hard power button.
The speaker sounds like Z or even worse and the powerbutton is definately harder than from the Z.
But both points are not dramatic. 
I'll keep you updated...

Went to the Sony Store today and got a chance to see the new z ultra. one word, massive, it is mini tablet, but the screen is gorgeous, it is super light and great build quality. Shame for no flash, but overall a great product. |

I had yesterday night a big freeze. Tried everything to fix it, but I couldn't and after 2min. it has restart automatic... I was just watching 1080p music clips in MP4. Then about few clips it has starting to make problems... After restart it has change the standard wallpaper to blank black wallpaper.
My Ultra run with 14.1.B.1.510
What about yours luwi and the other Ultra owners? Had you any problems so far?

No problem so far for me.
I got it this wednesday and I am very pleased with this device. My Xperia Z looks so small.
It is also running the 14.1.B.1.510 and I did not untick the "Optimized backlight" in the display settins as I read that this could bring SOD problems.
About the speaker, I notice a difference with my Z. The Z Ultra one is slightly better and louder for my ears.
I never used a LED flash on any device before so this isn't a negative point for me.
The only two complaints I could have is about the Power button which is very nice but not thick enough. The Z one was better imo.
Secondly, my screen is a little yellowish, as my Z one was before the calibration tool. I hope they will bring back this opportunity to adjust the claibration of the screen in further updates.
But so far, so good.
Btw, this device suits me so perfectly because i am texting a lot but almost never neither calling nor receiving calls. |

Luckily, I dont encounter such problem with my ultra. You can try try to reset it bro since there is a reset button beside micro sd slot like in ZL.
