Just noticed a great feature of Galaxy S that you can use the status bar to adjust the brightness. I don't know if it's already been discussed here. Anyway its really cool. Just touch the status bar for a second and then slide your finger/thumb right or left to increase or decrease the brightness respectively provided the phone is not set to automatic brightness.

If this ain't a dig at Apple I don't know what is Read what it says about the internal antenna. And my brother now has a Samsung Galaxy S upgraded to Froyo 2.2 & he says the reception since has improved much stronger & even with the so called death grip does not fluctuate. So,that's Samsung getting back at Apple

Just came back from nyc and i gotta say the galaxy S performed really well.took over 200 pics and numerous videos. Video wise it went beyond expectations..i stood in times square for over 9 hours ready for the new years eve party and even with all the noise it performed superbly. The videos look fantastic on my tv. Great great phone. Still running eclair btw lol.

My younger brother now says that since the froyo update he has had terrible lag issues. He says just from running one app and checking he has killed all other apps using the advanced task killer its still bad. The home screen often jerks when sweeping from each one no smoothness. Battery life is still poor too.

@Bonovox, I see no purpose of using any task killer. Its not a good idea to free the ram by killing all the apps using such task killers if you are not aware. Ask your brother to update it to 2.2.1 (XXJPY) which is available for UK officially via kies if you have XEU product code. Or you may also update with Odin. I updated mine to XXJPY (Froyo2.2.1) and it was sooooooper smooooth. But i downgraded again to JPJPG (Froyo 2.2) as i need arabic & urdu fonts. And even with 2.2, it is quite smooth and no jerking and i've at least 170 apps installed in my galaxy and still it is performing great

@jj03 why are you still on Eclair? [addsig]

No idea whats wrong with his device. It could be some app that's causing the prob. He should update or reinstall the firmware. [addsig]

@jj03, Don't worry mate. Flashing with Odin is as easy as 1,2,3....
I myself was a bit hesitating at first. But there is no risk at all if you are aware what you're doing. Flashing with Odin saves a lot of your time. Anyways if you need any kind of help, i am here [addsig]

Flashing with Odin is better than kies I found. My sgs is running froyo jpu, it's rooted and applied oclf (one click lag fix) which is a free to download app from the Market. Quadrant scores on my sgs went from 800-900 running without lag fix, to 1800 with. Also look up Darkys rom on xda developers. It is pretty awesome, and has a lot borrowed from Gingerbread. Runs very fast, no lag fix required, as it has voodoo written into it. Did use it for a while, but missed certain aspects of the stock samsung roms, so went back.
