I do not have the mini, but no one of the mini owners has reported "running services"

So it seems like the long wait for 2.1 on X8 was because X8 got a bit newer 2.1 firmware version than X10 and X10mini/pro.

thanks phoner!
But I guess the update will make its way to the minis too,since they're the superior siblings.
@All
So is the update out only for Russia or has anyone else managed to update?

Pls post ur first impressions!

Then I can report that the minis also have "running services".

I just got it. The OTA service said there was update available when I manually checked. It needs to be downloaded from SEUS on your computer. I think the update was around 126 MB and all in all it took probably less than 10 minutes to install.

First impressions:

The clock is now slightly smaller. Some apps now have different icons. The settings menu has a new look. There's the new slide screen lock. 1 new standard app: UEFA.com.

Can someone post a few screenshots? what's the overall impression? A big step up from 1.6?
On a side note, don't really think that we're gonna get 2.2. The difference between 1.6 and 2.1 is much bigger than 2.1 and 2.2 and SE just doesn't have the resources. It all depends now on how much the public pressure affects future updates decision. If SE decides to update the X10 to 2.2 then I guess it's worth their while to update its other siblings too.

EDIT: Got the update today. Generic World.

Seems to be pretty speedy as far as first impressions go. I dont know whether the screen can show 16m colors now though. Will get back with a more detailed experience report.

what is the ideal video resolution for playing full screen videos on x8? I tried 480x320 but I got black bands on both sides.
X8 can play wvga but am looking for something which'll do the job and take lesser space.
