has any one else noticed the change in the message sent tone?
instead of the "beep" now it is your selected message alert.

For me it´s still the "beep" and not the selected message alert tone.

After the update it seems like the message app is a lot better to handle html emails.
Before it ended up displaying html scripts, improvement!

R1CA037 was released yesterday in Italy.
Download FPC Bench a good benchmark/system info for your phone.
Download Pocket Inclinometer for your phone's accelerometer.

just installed the firmware. I have an orange branded satio.

Menu's are marginally faster but other than that, not much worth talking about.

The only problem i had is still present:

music still skips like a badly scratched cd (the very same music files dont skip on my pc/laptop/mp3 player/k850 phone/car stereo etc etc) which is seriously annoying.

Well after using the new update for a day or so I've noticed that I get a faster gps lock from a cold start, down from about 2mins to about 30-40 seconds without using agps bonus.
Messaging seems faster, and I think that the battery may be marginally better.

Looking good so far

Updating mine, red, unbranded, 117.5MB :| maybe because it's including East Asian languages support

116.2mb mate and no such difficult language. i guess its beacause of vodafone branding.

no it's not that, mine is bought in Vietnam, through official channel. i have fonts and input method support for Vietnamese and Thai.

by the way, the update didnt wipe my phone, all contacts, settings, and messages left after the update, is it normal for everyone here?

Yes, everybody seems to have there's settings unchanged! My only bug has been solved! Mine used to reboot when trying to play Play Now Arena-movies. Not anymore! Websurfing seems to be much faster, as well as keylock and menus overall.
I'm happy!

There seem to be an awful lot of changes behind-the-scenes, and despite it crashing once today when I tried to take a photo, it seems to work as you'd expect a phone with a powerful processor and lots of RAM to work.

I am also testing the Nokia X6 and although the capacitive screen is much nicer, it is slower overall. Mind you, it does have the benefit of a proper app store. Ovi Store may be pretty lame, but it's far better than what Samsung and Sony Ericsson Symbian users get.

But, I am happy. I now have a phone with a great camera that I can trust will work as a phone. I've pretty much accepted that for Email, I'll use my BlackBerry instead.
