First of all hello to all!
I know this is a deathmatch between two fot he best smartphones around with the decising factor being the priorities of the customer i.e phone-pda or pda-phone! But has anyone here considered adding a new competitor to the fight? Namely has anyone got his hands on the mighty Fujitsu Siemens Pocket LOOX T830? It's expected to be largely available here in Greece within the first week of September with a tag price of 709,24 euros. Check for yourselves here http://www.play247.gr/index.p[....]product_info&products_id=3257.
I dont know whether this should be in another thread but I wiil let the admin decide on that!
Thanks in advance.
Waiting for thoughts!

@petros15978
LOOX T830 - lower res screen than the TyTN & P990, much heavier than both, but slimmer than the TyTN & P990 and one obvious advantage is the LOOX has integrated GPS. Previous experience with 3G & integrated GPS tells me we should not expect good battery life.

Just got my replacement Voda TyTn:
- screen better, so there is a difference between batches
- keyboard feels and works really well (nice feedback)
BUT
- the soft menu button (RHS as you look at the keyboard) does NOT work! So another faulty keyboard
I can't beleive this, a second machine I need to return! I think I'll try T-mobile next time

just tell them not to bother sending you another one unless it has HT630 or later!

I know someone who works for voda and he checked the stock they had in the branch and they were all "ht626" and new stock wont arrive untill all previous stock reaches a minimum so i left getting mine exchanged for a replacement. I'll just wait till ht630's or above are out.
...... Back to my Nokia 8800 which i really, really missed!

I don't think you'll be dissapointed Mr[NiK] - its a very nice and stable PDA/Phone.
It's well built (providing its has a HT630x or greater SN# ), has plenty of app's available for it now and best of all the Orange customisations can be switched off really easily by simply unchecking the theme in the Today menu (which must be a first for Orange ).
I actually prefer the black styling of the the M3100 and of course it follows the reference design of the Hermes100 with the nice rounded buttons as opposed to the more square ones found on the Hermes 200 (i.e. the TyTn, Vodafone v1605 etc.).

Hello all
Iīm in the situation of choosing between these two great devices, and I just canīt make up my mind.
I have a question about the difference in screen-quality.
Looking at photos on the device is important to me.
Apparently the P990 screen is better, but how much better is it?
Is it just slightly better, or is the difference significant?
Does any of you with both devices have the possibility to take a picture of the devices laying beside each other, both showing the same picture?
Any help would be very much aprechiated!
Thanks |

I prefer the P990's screen when compared to the 2 faulty Tytn's I have had. Others no doubt will disagree with me. |

@jah
can I just ask what part was faulty as I've had this TyTN for over 2 weeks now and no problems bar a 3rd party app misbehaving (pocketzenphone) lol but the latest beta is workin fine. And mine is a 628 serial model no faults so far (fingers crossed). |
