I have been waiting for R1AA008 for my W800i for what seems like ages now, and with the new Update Software I finally have it.

Thanks man..

For all the W800i guys in Denmark - You can now get R1AA008! Go get it!

Updated to R1AA008 here in Italy with new standalone flash utility.
The first thing i can say: the earpiece volume is much louder!
One question: my ITP SW version is CXC 125 932 P1AE and not CXC 125 932 R1E. It's the same version since the first firmware release (R1A044). Why isn't upgraded? What's ITP SW Version?

Just read the last 7 pages of this topic and thought I would have ago as well and hey presto it only bloody works I now have R1AA008 on my K750i the camera works ok all seems good at the moment. All done via the stand alone update prog that can be found here: http://www.sonyericsson.com/d[....]/UpdateService_Inst_2.2.10.exe

Am I right in thinking that the success rate with the new software is higher, i.e. there's less chance of killing the phone?

I've already been burnt once before by SEUS, and I'm extremely hesitant about trying it once again.

Should I try the new update software, or is it still very risky?

I still cant update. After choosing the country the update client (2.2.1) just keeps showing those green loading squares. No idea what is wrong. I have updated my java to 5 update 6.

Do I need to update flash?

as with anything theres no guarantees.
you best secure a backup plan before going ahead.
even if someone guarantees you 99% you could end up being that 1%

The new version does not have a recovery mode option. SE thinks it is no longer necessary. Time will tell ...
