Xperia Arc hit by hardware faults
http://www.mobilenewscwp.co.u[....]ia-arc-hit-by-hardware-faults/
How can deny it's not a fault of the plastics?? Clearly people are looking after their devices but the crack appears so it should be under warranty. They seriously need to be careful cos once again this may damage their reputation.

1st of all: SE confirmed that it is Under Warranty, but then again not all SE Service Center knows this, or at least they have not yet been informed, but it is Under Warranty

2nd: For those people who already sent their Xperia Arc to Service center to change the Front Cover, the replacement cover was made of the same material, so, eventually, cracks will appear again after some time, usually 2-3months or really depends on how the user use his Arc

3rd: SE also knows that with the same material for replacement it did not solve the problem, so, they have confirmed that the new replacement cover will be Better and Tougher(maybe they strengthened the material?)

4th: Other Options to solve this kind of Problem is to Apply Skins, or ZAGG Ishield, atleast the crack part will be covered and you're Arc will be protected from scratches too, without compromising the Arc's Beauty and Size. I will apply Ishield to my Arc

5th: Another Solution is to use Jelly Case and Leather Case, i think?

Fair enough then. I still don't get why they say it's made of premium plastics

I Think that's is related to the Materials they used on the Plastics, the Plastic is called Polycarbonate which does not interfere with the Signals(GSM/WIFI etc) which is also tough, but not in Arc case, specially in that Proximity Sensor, that where usually where Heat Generates.

and some custom finishes that the design team to make the design to look premium, I guess

Am not sure if all xperia's 2011 are using this kind of plastic though

Any news on the 4.3.4 update for the UK? Still not available for generic UK handsets.

After 2 months its small cracked
After 4 months its side-chrome paled

Damn! I'm rather disappointed to see this happen with my next potential handset.

my Arc is 2 months old, luckily no cracks yet nor chrome peeling

my suggestions is to apply Full Body Protection from ZAGG

I asked people, and this Ishield will last more than 1 year, before it will become yellowish color or it will peel from the phone.

but for the screen protector some said it has a rubbery feel and makes touch screen less responsive, so maybe you should go for another brand for the screen protection.

Do you mean 2.3.4 (FW: 4.0.1.A.0.283)?

It's available to flash with flashtool from xda if you want it in a hurry. Flashtool can be used with locked or unlocked bootloaders and just takes a few clicks and a few minutes.

The UK SE facebook page states "new software (2.3.4) that’s due to launch on selected Xperia handsets in the next couple of weeks." on Monday, so the next 2 weeks, so we should get it by the 7th of October if they're not lying
