I am very happy for those people who got their P990's on hand this early!finally, we're seeing the light.....
Does anybody know where people living in US can purchase the phone?
...mobileplanet has it for $999.99, is it worth it? anything cheaper than that?
..thanks

Yes, there will surely be cheaper places. As was mentioned before, the phone should not be more than $750 max (excl. shipping), probably more like $650...
For example, mobilecityonline.com should have it for around 750 once they get out of pre-order phase. Also, check mobile-gadgets.net, which has it for around $700 + shipping
so just sit tight, wait a week or two, you should start seeing availability in US online stores at decent prices. |

For thoes guys who do not have access to or cannot use "Youtube" i have added a video from there for you pleasure. Its just a small 2 min clip of the out side of the P990, being handled.
::Clip - P990 - Outside::
i will be adding lots of other clips that i find till i can make my own (fingers crossed).
It looks like it does support flash!

I was at the epicenter of mobile phonage in Bangkok two days ago. The usual vendor who typically is the first to get their hands on new phones (either imported from HK or Singapore) didn't have the P990i. BUT...
A stall with a middle-eastern man (fluent in Thai) had the P990i... for sale... at 51,490 baht. How many dollars is that, you may be thinking?
$1,365.41
Absolutely nuts.
Then again, in Bkk, I paid $660 for my M600i because it was, at that time, an exclusive offer from one shop. Now it sells here for $450.
But over 1350 dollars for the P990i? Is this overkill?
P800a -> T630 -> P910i -> W800i -> n8800 -> M600i [->P990i?] |

You are right buddy. Wimax used on one of the 'free' frequenties band, will be closer to a revolution then evolution - what 'personal' communication is concerned. Unfortunately Nokia -the only big gun out there pushing it (Motorola too but they've throttled back a bit lately) , won't bring a WIMAX cell till late next year. There is still a chance the N83 will have it but I very much doubt. (it will certainly have 3.5G and Wifi g-turbo mode but Wimax is another beast.)fingers crossed Is a pity - smaller companies (Alcatel , SE, etc. don't bother much about cutting edge tech like this.) Greetings from South Africa. Mario

I have one of these:
http://www.siba.se/index.aspx?identifier=SE86493
And it rocks! I turns out that all the places i usually go to have wifi signal, so now when i get my phone today, ill going to do around and confirm the hotspots . Might even make a small map of them for joel |

I don't know how wifi is implemented on the P990 but with windows mobile devices you don't need a separate device to find hotsopts as the windows mobile device finds them for you in the same way windows does

1. Scanning for wifi drains the battery.
2. It takes longer.
3. This thing tells you if they are locked or not. |

I asked around in the local phone stores in my small town in Sweden and it seems that P990 is available in small numbers in all of them this morning. From one to ten units (barely any pre-orders) and prices in the range of 590 - 660 Euros.
Even TPH here has them today, in small numbers ...

1. Scanning for wifi drains the battery.
I always leave wifi turned on on my windows mobile devices and still get great battery life, 3 to 4 days on the k-jam I had
2. It takes longer.
I find that hotspots "popup" on the windows mobile device as soon as I come into range so I am not sure what you mean here
3. This thing tells you if they are locked or not.
so does windows and windows mobile devices
