i hope it won't take long for the 6" phablet to come out. i can't help wanting xperia z now but what i'm afraid is that sony will abandon the phablet and focus on xperia z instead, just like what they did to xperia s and ion. i sold my xperia s to get ion but it seems that they..sort of..abandoning ion |

On 4.2 - the word is that Qualcomm are not currently giving out reference drivers compatible with Scorpion, so it makes porting 4.2 much more difficult and time consuming. They are concentrating on getting Krait drivers out instead since the majority of 2012/13 devices use Krait. Sony were one of few companies to release Scorpion based high end devices in 2012 and for this decision they may have to take a hit on the 4.2 update.
As of now, 4.2/5.0 will likely only come to Sony's Krait based phones which for us are T/TL/TX/V/Z/ZL plus whatever they reveal at MWC. If Sony decide to recode the 4.1 drivers for use in 4.2 then they could extend 4.2 to S/SL/Acro S/Ion which account for a couple of million users, but they would need to weigh up the time taken and cost of doing that. I believe that Sony's AOSP drive for Xperia S is about getting decent drivers built for Scorpion on 4.2 early, but who really knows.
I quoted it from neogaf. Very disappointing news. |

Xperia Tablet Z will come in Black and White colors. Though it seems it will be available globally only in Q2. Around April - May timeframe |

If the new tablet is supposed to be related to the Xperia Z, I do have to wonder if they'd put dragontrail glass on the back. Hopefully it'll at least be on the front. Just going by the leaked weight of it though, I would guess no glass on the back? |

Those prices are about the same as the Nexus 10 ! Sony is making my life difficult in my first tablet purchase. I guess I need to wait for the official pics first.
Nexus 10 goes for around $200-225 USD.. so it's much more expensive.. at least for an american like me

... that "at all" is intriguing me. Surely it would use glass of some sort over the screen, no? I'm fine with the back not being glass, no issues there. I do hope the rumours are true on how light and thin it is... I'm definately considering the upgrade from my Tablet S to this. |

where are you getting that price? I probably bought like 15 nexus 7 in pass month and I paid around 230 each for them. Nexus 10 is listed for $399 - $499. whihc is a good price range for a 10in tab. I dont think Sony should fight others on price on the bottom end. Make a kickass 7in & 10in at the high end, sell less but make more. Sony should go back to being a premium brand. Same goes for the Vaio line, the low end ones are crap anyway. Let the chinese beat each other up toward the low end. |
