the unit was made 02w17
the battery does not have any marking, i think it is a fake one.
the font is so small and the unit is very light, i got it from an office mate who saw me using a T39m, so he asked me if i am interested in buying an ericsson unit,when i saw that it was a T66, i bought it . for Php 1,500 (USS27.70)

@bokayo
That is an original battery.
BTW, dont show your IMEI number in any forum.

As i remember t66 batt is a weak one and was the first, which wasnt the back of fone aswell. A2618 had the most weird batt solution.

The A2618 did have a seperate back to the battery but the battery had to be clipped into place and a you also had to plug in a lead from the battery to the phone. It was a weird way of doing it. It is a very similat way of connecting the battery to the way that cordless home phones work.

Really interested, whoever decided for that solution at ///. Dont get the real reason for such an unortodox decision after so many years. R600 and t66 had removable backcovers, t65 solution is well known.

According to Eldar Murtazin in its review of the T66, this phone was made by MicroCell and not by Ericsson itself. So maybe that's the reason.
I suppose that the T28/T39's wonderfull Indeglo backlight screens where more expensive too...

Thats right,but just to increase costs it wasnt the best decision. Unfortunately the same story with malaysian r and t series,mean the painted keypad,lower backlight etc

Yes, you're right.
In its review of the SE T600, he also observes that there is space left for a bigger (colour ?) screen for an hypothetic and future new T600, that was finally never made.
It's a pity because the T66 is still the smallest cell phone ever made (maybe along with some Panasonic), but it's discontinued, while a version with colour screen could have been successfull.
I know some of you will say it lacks many features, but I think there's a market for "simple but nice" phones. I think the actual SE T100 is made out of the T600, but it lacks both functions AND sex appeal !

My T66 is also made in Finland by Microcell. Most the T66 units I saw in the market are by the Finnish company.
