Apparently this LT18i is a revamped Arc with a sped-up single core processor (8255T perhaps), with no dual-core phone to come this year.
Atleast that's what's being said on the typical trusty Chinese forums. |

Sigh. SE never learn. I wonder who predicts the market at SE... |

exactly, they have a pretty good understanding of the mid-end market
products like the ray and the mini series are dead on (besides that they are too late on the market)
but se just fail at high end sales. if people can decide between a galaxy II, optimus 3D and an iphone - no one is going to think about buying a sony ericsson. providers are pricing the arc and the play exactly in that kind of corner.
and even if they bring a dual core phone now - what would be the reason to buy it ?
what would really shine these days, is a phone which works seeming-less with a good cloud service

This pic is downsized and even downsized to ~ 2,3 MP there is a lot of noise ad ugly artefacts. From this pic, i assume that xperia DUO will have same sensor like all new xperia family. 8 MP sony Exmor first generation like arc, neo, ray etc, or maybe this sensor is used temporary in this prototype unit and will upgrade lately with an 12 MP or 16 MP EXMor. I think that xperia duo will not have a 12 MP camera and it will stuck to 8 MP module, same module for entire family of XPeria. I don't think this phone will have a 2500 mAh battery. Much probably will have maximum 1500 mAh. We will see if I am wrong or not. I wish I will wrong but sonyericsson is falling' down.. lately |

If they're going to stay with Exmor R sensors they'll have to go either 8MP or 16MP won't they? I thought the press release for the Exmor R said that it was only produced in these two sizes i.e. no 12MP.

I wonder if the use of this technology means no more xenon flash on their phones, because then it would make it pointless. I do love how much light my arc takes in when the light is low and love the sort of grainy darkish photos, not just a gimmick like walkman or cybershot was...

Well I have the Sony HZ9v camera with Exmor R and it is 16 mega pixels too. But its not just in 8 and 16 meg sizes though. But I don't know if its different for mobiles

There was an interview with Bert in Svd today (newspaper). He said; no tablets, SE cant afford that now. WP7 has become interesting now when nokia supports it. And once again he said competition today is about clock speed (why the hell arent they competing then?!).
He talked about the loss they made and that they basically had two models the whole quarter. Arc and neo, and they had not enough phones to satisfy the demand. They are running at full power now though so he expects a better quarter now |

I disagree. You can use your flash up to 2-3 metres to take a portrait photo for example. While the exmor-r sensor should help reduce the noise in night landscape photos for example.

Unfortunately as much as I love my Neo and it takes great pics. I tried a few night shots and they were awful.
